Chapter 6

Everyone was looking at me. I looked down and said, "May I think this over. I need time."

No one said anything as I got up and walked out of the garden and into the ball room and made my way out of the mansion. When I was out of the mansion I walked home. While walking I saw a car pass me and it stop just ahead of me. Someone got out and I just kept walking.

"Carter why did you leave?" Asked Alex.

I knew whose car that was. I just shook my head and said, "Go back to the party Alex. I need to walk home and think some things over. I don't want anyone else to know. But as I see everything now, what I need to think over already has an answer."

"Carter you're not making any since right now," Alex told me.

"I'll be fine. Don't worry about me okay. I just have a lot on my mind," I told Alex as I walked past him.

When I walked by the car I saw Jagger inside, I stopped and turned and said, "Jagger take Alex with you back to your party. I'll be fine. Just leave."

When I reached my home, I ran to my room. Once I knew that I was safe in my room, I changed out of my clothes and took off all my makeup and just sat on my bed. I thought over and over what I should do. Yet the answer was to leave and at the same time it was to stay and take over the coven, but then again, I knew that the coven was in safe hands if Eve passed it on to Jagger.

These thoughts consumed me that night as well as my sleep. When I woke the next day, I got dressed into jeans and a random shirt. I then grab my helmet and walked out of the house. I hopped on to my bike and drove to Lady's Eve house and parked my bike. I walked up to the door and knocked on it.

Of course, with my luck, Jagger happened to answer the door. When he saw me, he was shocked that I was even here.

"I wish to speak with Lady Eve, its important," I said.

"She said you would be stopping by. Follow me," Jagger said.

I walked inside and Jagger led me up to the office. When he opened the door, Lady Eve and Mr. Hail were talking, when they noticed me, they stopped.

"Carter I was hoping you would stop by, but I can tell you have an answer for us?" Eve asked me.

"I do, and I want both. I want to be my father's daughter as well as getting a chance to know my mother's side of the family. I still would like to coven to go to Jagger. Yet I know, and we all know in order for him to have claim to the coven, he has to marry me which no one would like," I said.

Jagger looked at me and then to his aunt. He was confused and I wasn't going to tell him anything. Eve smiled and said, "About time you have come to this conclusion. Maybe you are a little bit like your mother and father. But you do know what you are getting yourself into?"

"I do. My father tried to protect me, my mother, and baby brother. I do know that he would have done everything for all of us. I will do the same as my father, I will protect those who I hold dear as well as those who mean nothing to me. I may be only half vampire, but I have two sides that I need to learn about. I wish to leave and live with my uncle and get to know him. When I am finished at school during the remainder of the year, I shall come here and learn what I need to learn. Finish high school, go to college, and then take over to coven and if Jagger wishes to do the same then he must take the trials like I had to, and as you did my Lady," I said.

"Aunt Eve what the hell is going on here? Why does Carter have a say over the coven when you are our ruler?" Jagger said.

Eve sighed and said, "Because Carter is our late Master's daughter. She is his only heir to the coven. The coven has been ruled by her family for generations and our Master took Carter's mother for his bride over me, he made the right choice because he became a better man with Carter's mother. Carter is the princess that me, Mr. Hail and Lord and Lady Fallen took in to keep her safe. She was barely alive when we heard what happened. Vampires teamed up with some rouge hunters and killed our master and his bride and his only son."

Jagger looked at me and said, "What's this about you leaving then?"

"She wants-" Eve started to say.

"No, I want to hear it from Carter," demanded Jagger.

I knew he would be angary with me leaving but being this angary was something I didn't accept from him. He already made his choice, and I didn't voice my words of concern and now when I try to leave, he steps in and voices his anger and concerns.

I looked at him and said, "I want to know of my mother's side of the family."

Jagger left the room without another word. It was quiet when Mr. Hail said, "Carter dear when do you wish to meet your uncle? Also don't worry about Jagger. He'll come around sooner or later."

"Tomorrow, since it is a Saturday. If he cannot make it then, maybe Monday after noon. I want them at my birthday party, but I know that is not going to work out. So, on the day of my birthday, I'll hang out with them and come back for the party. I'm sure Alex and Ava can help me come up with something that night. About Jagger, I'm not worried. Its Jagger after all. I've grown up with him. After him losing her, I knew he would be upset with me leaving but how he reacted is something I didn't accept." I spoke with honesty in my voice.

"Very well, I'll go and set everything up. Good day Lady Eve, Princess Carter," said Mr. Hail.

When he left the room Lady Eve looked at me and said, "Carter don't worry about Jagger. I believe that he'll be back to his normal self tomorrow or he will before your birthday. He just got blindsided that you were our lost little princess. Also, he does care about you. When he lost her, it seemed that he went downhill. Then last year when you were being stalked, something changed in him. I'll talk with him. For now, I believe it's time for you to get to school."

"I know. I'm not worried, I need to get back home. I'm not going to school today because I was up all-night thinking, Good day lady Eve." I spoke as I walked out to head home.
