Born With A Curse

Chapter 15.

"You know it was pretty bad ass you taking on Leia like that!" Tanner compliments

"Bad ass? I had no choice, the bitch jumped out of nowhere and ambushed me."

"But still, you held your own."

"Thanks," I blush at his compliment. "What's her problem anyway? I don't even know her and she just attacked me."

"How about we go to mine and clean you up and I'll explain all about Leia," Tanner suggests and I nod shyly agreeing to go with him.

Tanner walks ahead toward one of the little huts, as I follow slowly behind him. I have no idea why he's being so nice to me when Cole told me he's usually a dick, but it just makes me that bit more thankful. After Leia attacking me and Chase verbally abusing me it's nice to have someone being genuinely nice to me.

Tanner opens the door and steps to the side allowing me to enter first, very gentlemanly of him I must say. I step inside the hut, it's a lot smaller then mum's but that's to be expected as she is the Alpha after all, having been inside her house I kind of have an idea of where I am going, so I head toward the living room area when I hear the door shut behind me, followed by heavy footsteps.

I take a seat on an old tatty chair as Tanner enters the room, but instead of sitting down he walks straight back out coming back seconds later with a damp cloth in hand. He walks over kneeling in front of me then takes my chin in his hand turning my face to face his, he then takes the cloth and dabs it lightly against my lip, I wince in pain and back away.

"Owe," I pout as Tanner smirks

"Stop being a baby and let me clean you up," he replies pulling my face back toward him

I do as I'm told and let him clean my lip up, I hadn't even realised it was bleeding until my mum had said it and then when Tanner placed that cloth against my lip it actually hurt, not excruciatingly but stung a little.

"All done," Tanner smiles and exits the room once again.

I bring my finger to my lip and touch it then look to make sure there's no blood. I can still feel the slight sting but I can also feel tightness around the area where the cut is.

"Why does my lip feel tight?" I ask Tanner as he re-enters the room

"That means it's started healing already, which is quick, even for a werewolf, perks of being a powerful Alpha's daughter I guess," he shrugs and takes a seat on a table centred in the middle of the room.

Feeling comfortable in his company I kick off my shoes and bring my legs up to sit cross legged on the chair. I notice Tanner smile out the corner of my eye but choose not to make a big deal out of it, it's the first time I've seen him genuinely smile since I met him earlier today.

"So tell me about Leia, what's her problem?" I ask looking up to make eye contact with him, its only then that I notice how bright and captivating his eyes are, so blue, like the afternoon sky on a hot summers day.

"Leia has issues!"

"Well I know that," I interrupt sarcastically

"Are you going to let me talk?" Tanner smirks and I nod.

"Sorry."

"Like I was saying Leia has issues. Ever since Rose, your mum, introduced her to the pack. We all tried our best to make her feel at home and comfortable, but she's had such a messed up passed that it's had some kind of physiological effect on her, not to mention you're a threat to her."

"How am I a threat?" I question feeling confused, I've only just got here.

"You're the Alpha's daughter and you're female, which means other wolves are going to try mate you and other females are going to try fighting you for rank," Tanner explains
