"Madeleine?" Espresso called out, his voice breaking. He leaned against the wall, trembling.

Madeleine's head peaked around the corner, his face immediately lighting up as he saw his husband. He rushed up to him, giving him a quick kiss on the forehead. His smile faded when he saw how unhappy he looked. "Oh, what's wrong, love?" He asked, holding Espresso close.

Espresso took a deep, trembling breath as he tried to calm himself. He focused on the feeling of Madeleine's arms around him. "I-I know I said I wouldn't do it again... But I really want to... to cut myself..." He whispered, shutting his eyes. "I'm sorry. It's stupid. I'm sorry."

"Oh." Madeleine thought for a moment. "Don't worry. I'll make it all better, I swear." He placed another kiss on Espresso's forehead.

A smile grew on his face as Madeleine kissed him, but it faded away. "It's all I can think about," He whispered. "I know it's bad, and I'm sorry, but I just- I just want to so fucking bad!" He said, his voice breaking as he gritted his teeth. His face heated up—he knew how pathetic he was being, and he was beyond embarrassed. He was absolutely mortified he allowed himself to act like such a fool in front of Madeleine.

Worry spread across Madeleine's face as he took Espresso's hands, leading him to the couch. He set him down, grabbing a blanket and wrapping him up to make him as comfortable as possible. "It'll be okay. I promise, Espresso."

Espresso watched as Madeleine draped the blanket over him. It was heavy and warm, and the weight of the blanket calmed him down a little.

"Do you need anything? Food, a drink? Anything at all?"

He shook his head, closing his eyes and frowning. "No, thank you." He leaned his head sleepily against the back of the couch.

Madeleine sat on the couch next to him, watching him carefully. He stared at Espresso's tired face—it looked like he hadn't slept in days. His signature dark bags under his eyes were extra noticeable, and his hair wasn't very neat either. But even in his tired state, he still somehow was the most beautiful person Madeleine had ever seen.

...He still looked really tired, though.

"I don't know what's wrong with me," Espresso started, snapping Madeleine out of his thoughts. "I'm really trying not to hurt myself. I honestly am. You have to believe me." His tired eyes trailed up to meet Madeleine's.

"I know you are. I believe you. Why wouldn't I believe you?" Madeleine asked, smiling softly as he hugged the wrapped-up Espresso.

He shrugged.

"Well, I believe you. I know you're trying, that's all I ask." He pressed his lips against his cheek. "And there's nothing wrong with you."

Espresso said nothing, but he leaned into Madeleine's kiss.

"How are you feeling now?"

Espresso sighed. "Pathetic," He responded. He looked down. "I'm sorry I'm this way."

"No, please don't apologize. You don't need to apologize. I'm not mad," Madeleine said, looking into his eyes to try and show how serious he was. "What will make you feel better? Maybe... going on a walk? Watching something, eating or drinking, listening to music?"
