"Silly Mr Teddy," Espresso giggled, making him bounce around. He grinned. He loved Mr Teddy more than anyone; he was kind and sweet and sophisticated... Anything you could want in a friend. He set his teddy on top of a toy car, pushing it around. The car pulled up to another toy truck. Espresso frowned, narrowing his eyes at the truck. "Move, car." He ran it over as he grinned and giggled.

Espresso took Mr Teddy off of the car and adjusted his red tie. Mr Teddy didn't come with a tie, Espresso had put the tie on him. Mr Teddy was very fancy, just like Espresso was.

The front door suddenly swung open and hit the wall, making a huge bang. Espresso flinched, looking behind him at the door.

Father stumbled in, his eyes darting around the room. He reeked of alcohol, and Espresso tensed up. He never liked when Father smelled like alcohol. Sometimes he would even yell at Espresso when he smelled like that!

"I'm home," He called out, his words slurring as he slammed the door.

Espresso winced again.

Mother stepped out of the kitchen, frowning as she watched him lean against the wall as he got dizzy. "You didn't drive home, did you?"

Espresso watched as Father staggered over to Mother. "Maybe," He muttered, his voice gruff and deep as he gave her a deep kiss on the lips. "Why?"

"I told you not to drive while you're drunk," She replied. Her brow furrowed at his breath as she pulled away from him. She stepped back towards the dinner she was cooking on the stove. "You could die or get arrested or something. Get one of your sober friends to drive you home next time."

Father rolled his eyes. "That's too much... too much work." He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her again.

She pushed him away, scoffing. "I'm busy cooking dinner. Go lie down. Food will be ready in about ten minutes."

He stared at her for another second before groaning a loud and over exaggerated groan, turning away. His drunken eyes trailed down to Espresso, who was still sitting on the floor with his toys.

He looked up at him, his eyes wide.

"Move, you little shit."

Espresso tensed up, immediately grabbing his teddy and toy cars, trying to get out of Father's way immediately. "Yes, sir," He whispered, his hands shaking horribly as he hurried to push his toys away.

His eyes narrowed. "I said, move!" Father kicked his side.

He let out a loud cry in pain, trying to keep his balance as he moved his cars and his teddy away. His eyes were wide as he looked up at his father, who was staring down at him with anger in his eyes. Espresso looked away; Father's eyes always scared him. "I'm sorry."

Father scoffed, stumbling past him and flopping down onto the couch.

"I'm sorry," Espresso whispered again.

"I heard you the first time, Espresso!" He yelled, rubbing his temples as if he had an unbearable headache.

He stayed silent, turning back to his toys. He reached out a shaky hand and grasped his teddy, holding him close. He wasn't in the mood to play anymore.

After a moment of silence, Father spoke again. "What? Did I ruin your game?" He asked, his voice threatening.

Espresso looked up at him. "N-No."
