Naruto huffed as he reached finally reached Sasuke's house. He banged on the door and ran the doorbell repeatedly.

"Open up, Sasuke ! I know what you have been up to !" he yelled as he kept banging the door.

No one answered it. He kept banging his fists on the door as he tried remember where the Uchihas kept their spare key, if Sasuke even had one anymore.

He looked under the doormat, but all he found was dust. He looked in the nearby pots but he found nothing there either. Sighing in defeat, Naruto took a few steps back and prepared himself. He charged head on into the door of the old Uchiha household.

Much to his surprise, the reinforced glass door swung open very easily. It was not even locked, but just tightly closed. Being as heavy as it was, it wouldn't open easily.

Naruto held his breath as he stepped inside.

"Sasuke ?" he called out. As expected, he got no answer.

The house was eeriely quiet and being as large as it was just made it creepier. Naruto could almost understand why Sasuke avoided staying at his place. It would get lonely to be in such a big place all by himself.

As Naruto walked past Fugaku and Mikoto's bedroom, he shuddered on reflex. He opened the door without thinking, but of course it was empty. What was he expecting anyway, ghosts ?

But the house gave him creeps. Not because he knew what had happened there years ago, but because it still had the same atmosphere as that day.

That day on which Uchiha Sasuke murdered his family.

Sasuke was always pampered. He always got his way. But till everyone around him realized the effect it had on him, it was too late.

He had always gotten what he wanted. But, however rich the Uchihas were, there were still some things they could not give him.

One night, one broken promise, and it was the end of the journey for them.

For once, Sasuke had not desired for anything, but his parents' time. They had promised to stay for a week. But an important meeting got preponed, and they had to leave a few days earlier.

In the middle of the night before they left, Sasuke had showed up in the room.

They never woke up to see the next sunrise.

Naruto remembered how broken Sasuke looked when the reality of things dawned upon him; Naruto had been right beside him. It was the first and the last time Sasuke had actually shown his feelings. Naruto remembered how hard he had cried.

But by the time people came to collect the bodies, they had disappeared without leaving a trace behind. Investigations were carried out, but no lead was ever found.

The case was closed and soon forgotten. Everything the Uchihas left behind was inherited by Sasuke. A few months passed, and it stopped being mentioned even in the corner of the newspaper.

Naruto stopped in front of Sasuke's room. He hesitated for a second, but pushed the door open.

He hadn't been there in years, but it was just as he remembered it. Everything was white and plain, except for the Uchiha symbol on one wall.

Naruto shook his head to clear his thoughts and looked around the room.

To be honest, there was nothing to look for. On the bed, there was duct tape, a rope and metal handcuffs. The bedsheets were messed which showed signs of struggle.

If it weren't for the circumstances, Naruto would've thought that Sasuke had had a very kinky night. But, he knew that was not the truth.

The truth was that (Name) had been there.

He scanned through the room for any more clues, but it was basically empty except for a few of Sasuke's clothes and books.

Naruto rushed out of the house, while being careful to put everything back into it's place and closed the door tightly beging him. He stood outside and scanned through his phone contacts, hoping that he had not deleted the number.

Fortunately, he had not.

Naruto quickly dialled the number. He tapped his foot impatiently as the the phone rang once, twice, thrice, hoping that the other person would answer it.

"Hello ?" a deep voice answered.

Naruto sighed in relief. With Sasuke back to his old behavior and (Name) gone, there was only one person he could depend on. The one person except him who knew the past. The prodigal elder son of the Uchihas who was supposed to have died in a car accident the very same night as his parents. The man whose name had not been heard for years, probably forgotten.

Uchiha Itachi.
