Epilogue

Naruto jogged up to the girl waiting near the gate and slipped his hand into hers, spinning her around once and then pulling her along as he started walking ahead.

"You could just come normally for once." said (Name) as she gained ger footing and glared at him, but that was a pretence. She was actually holding back a smile, and was pretty sure that made her look like a baboon, but Naruto just grinned at her.

"But you wouldn't like that, would you ?" he grinned brightly at her.

It had been four years since the incident, and (Name) and Naruto were now in college. Naruto obviously chose the one affiliated with Konoha high school, which (Name) chose to go to one near it which was attended mainly by students who took up Law. She had decided she wanted to be a lawyer, and Naruto supported her decision.

Naruto had always been with her, by her side, even after she had left the hospital. He had helped her move out of the horrid house, which only reminded her of her past. He had helped her get her life together. He had filled the void in her heart.

Before she knew it, she found herself falling for him.

If someone could bring hope when all hope was lost. If someone answered the prayers of complete strangers. If someone did something that was impossible for anyone but them. If someone were powerful enough to save lives. If someone did it all, knowing fully well that they would get nothing in return.

That was what Naruto had done for her. She was a complete stranger to him; he hardly knew he except for when he had spoken to her once or twice before. Yet, he had helped her out of her darkness. He was that ray of hope which guided her to the light. He had never expected anything in return, even when he had saved her life.

(Name) only saw it as a blessing, how he had supported her always. She knew Naruto was also in love with her. He had made it very clear, that he didn't mind her past, or the panic attacks se constantly got. But she could just never believe how he even liked her. He wasn't the best guy she had met, but his kind heart was what made her believe that he was. He never showed that she was a burden to him, even though she knew how troublesome it must have been to handle her during the months just after the incident.

They were now dating with the intention of getting married after college.

"I mean, I know I'm very adorable and hot and totally drool-worthy but, (Name), you're actually drooling." he said with laughter eminent in his voice.

(Name) snapped out of her thoughts and furiously wiped the side of her mouth. Naruto burst out laughing and she narrowed her eyes at him.

"Liar." she accused.

"But it was worth watching." he said, with his face red from holding his laughter.

(Name) frowned and stomped off ahead, indicating that she was pissed off. Naruto followed after her repeating that it was only a joke and that he wouldn't do it again - but he knew and (Name) knew he didn't mean that because the next day he would be playing a terrible practical joke on her. (Name) had gotten used to it, and even loved his playful side. But she always pretended to be angry so that his jokes never got too out of hand.

"I'll give you my ramen." said Naruto, but (Name) could see him subtly cross his fingers.

She gave up her false anger and grinned at him. "Yeah, sure, you big fat liar." she said.

Naruto only grinned wider as they continued walking home, completely unaware of a familiar person they just passed, carefully watching them, watching all their moves.

"My (Name), my dear (Name). Just wait some more time. I will come and free you from your misery. You won't have to pretend that you're happy anymore, because I will really make you happy. I'm coming for you, (Name)." whispered Sasuke, standing in the shadows with a hood covering his head, watching them as they just walked past him.
