(Name) stared with her jaw open as Daiki hurriedly limped away, without waiting for her to say anything. She watched him go until he turned around the corner. His words echoed in her mind, along with Naruto's.

"Sasuke's parents died years ago."

"What do you mean ? He didn't tell you ?"

"It was the courtesy of your dear boyfriend, Uchiha Sasuke."

She held her head in her hands and shook it violently. She didn't want to believe it. Although Sasuke was cold and distant to most, he was sweet and caring to her. He was nice at heart. She knew he was. There was no way he could have done anything to Daiki, or was there ? The glare Sasuke had sent Daiki did not go unnoticed by (Name). But she thought that was it.

Surely it wasn't.

Sasuke also couldn't miss out something as important as his family. Maybe he didn't want to talk about their death, but since it was years ago, shouldn't it be fine ? At least mentioning the fact that they no longer exist in this world should be fine. Sasuke couldn't possibly still be in the denial stage.

(Name) ran back to her house and locked the door after her. Her parents returned late from work so she was alone. She decided to eat something to take her mind off a certain someone. She still had another day to think about it.

As (Name) entered the kitchen, the second thing that she noticed was pasta on the table. That was the second thing. The first was a note stuck to the fridge.

' (Name),
We're sorry. We had to leave a week earlier because your father's boss called. We took the first flight we got. We wish we could stay to say good-bye, but we really couldn't. It was urgent. We'll call you once we reach.
Love, Mom & Dad. '

(Name) read the note again and again as tears formed. Her parents could have called her before they left. She would've come back half-day to see them off. The letter just showed their feeble attempt at showing that they care. As the years had passed, their work had become their priority. She also knew that they would probably forget to call her as well.

She looked back at her pasta. (Name) had lost her appetite. She put it in the fridge and went to her room.

After taking a quick shower, (Name) laid on her bed, trying to sleep. All the memories of that day started to come back. Her doubts on Sasuke started to come back.

Was her parents leaving early somehow related to him ?

(Name)'s thought shocked herself. Why had she thought that ? Sasuke couldn't have that much power.

(Name) got up and went to her parent's room. She didn't know why. She just wanted something, anything that would clear all her doubts and put her fears to rest. Her brain told her that Sasuke had nothing to do with her parents, but her intuition started kicking in and told her that something was off. As much as she wanted to believe what her rational part told her, she couldn't ignore her intuitions. Not after the happenings of that day. A small part in her kept thinking that something about Sasuke was wrong.

Much to her dismay, their bedroom was locked. This also came as a shock to her because her parents had never kept her out of their room. She was free to enter and leave whenever she wanted even when they were away on business trips. In fact, until then, she had thought that the room could only be locked from inside.

(Name) went back to her room feeling very confused. On thinking again, she wasn't really sure what she was expecting to find in her parents' room, but it being locked had just made her even more curious.
