"The fire can not touch me, for I have been burned one too many times. The sea can not harm me, for I have been drowning all my life. Oh but you, you could rip my heart open, darling. For I have never known love before." - R. Asthreria

A lot of time had passed since what happened. Gyomei had trained so much he ended up becoming a Hashira rather quickly considering. Maybe it was the pure determination to be better than who he used to be. Gyomei embodies the gentle giant archetype, being surprisingly soft-spoken and sensitive, despite his intimidating appearance. He is also shown to be quite pious, carrying his prayer beads at all times and offering prayers in poignant situations. Most notably, Gyomei easily cries over the most insignificant things, accentuating his rather soft nature. This could be due to his love for all living creatures brought about by his religious upbringing, and insinuated when he felt so disgusted by beating up a that he would never forget that feeling for the rest of his life.

Ever since what happened at the temple he grew a great deal of respect for Kagaya Ubuyashiki, with that Gyomei was also the most respected individual amongst the Hashira. When he first joined many didn't talk to him, they believed he wouldn't last long. Not to mention he kept talking about someone by the name of Y/N. Talking of how they would like this or that, sometimes even saying "hey Y/n-" before stopping himself. It made people think he was crazy, but after a year that slowly came to a stop. Many assumed he forgot about the person or came to terms they died. Either way the chats about him changed to admiration for his strength. Furthermore, Gyomei acts as a leader for them, noticeably he sat at the front during a Hashira meeting and was the one trusted by Kagaya to give out orders to them, due to Kagaya having known him for the longest out of the Hashira.

Though he maintains a fairly reserved disposition, Gyomei harbors a very objective and somewhat suspicious view of the people around him, owing to his experiences before becoming a Demon Slayer. He is ever-cognizant of what others, particularly children or those younger than him, are capable of if given the opportunity. By reason of his doubtful nature, it can take a while for Gyomei to completely accept and trust others. When he does open up and let others in, he is unwavering in his commitment to them. Those people being the other Hashira's and Kagaya's family. He felt nothing but loyalty to them and his fellow coworkers.

Gyomei is a hulking figure among the Demon Slayers. He is one of the tallest Hashira's amongst them all, easily towering over his fellow colleague. He is powerfully built and extremely muscular after all his training. He has spiky black hair and a prominent scar running horizontally across his forehead. He found out not long after finding his freedom why he had felt a pain when fighting the demon in the temple. With so much adrenaline coursing through his body he hadn't even realized he was hurt. The demon had slashed his forehead leaving a scar on his body, not just mind anymore, to remind him of his failures. Now, as a hashira he had his own place to call home again. It had far too many room, maybe he had them to give room to the souls who may watch over him, maybe his past children would have enjoyed this place.
