Some days later, the dim light of the lanterns cast a warm, flickering glow over the room as Y/N and Daki found themselves alone once again. The night's festivities had come to a lull, and the soft murmur of the house's occupants created a serene backdrop for their conversation.

Y/N leaned back, stretching slightly as she looked at Daki. "You were really amazing tonight. The way you commanded the room, the grace in your movements... it's impressive."

Daki arched an eyebrow, a skeptical smile playing on her lips. "Are you trying to gain favor with me, half-breed? Flattery will get you nowhere."

Y/N shook her head, her expression earnest. "No, I'm being serious. You're incredibly talented, Daki. I don't think I've ever seen anyone perform with such confidence and skill."

Daki's eyes narrowed, searching for any hint of deceit or mockery in Y/N's face. All she found was sincerity. It was a strange feeling, to be genuinely complimented without any ulterior motives behind it. She had spent so long surrounded by people who only saw her as a tool or a threat. Being appreciated for her abilities, not her status or power, was something she hadn't experienced in a long time.

"You really mean that, don't you?" Daki's voice was softer, almost hesitant.

"Of course I do," Y/N replied with a warm smile. "You have a gift, Daki. You should be proud of it."

Daki looked away for a moment, her expression unreadable. When she finally spoke, her voice held a touch of vulnerability. "It's rare for someone to see beyond what I am. Most people... they don't care about my skill, only what they can gain from it."

Y/N nodded, understanding. "I get that. People often see what they want to see. But that doesn't diminish what you're capable of."

Daki's gaze softened as she looked back at Y/N. "You're... different. It's strange. Annoying, but... refreshing."

Y/N laughed softly. "I'll take that as a compliment. It's nice to hear something positive from you for a change."

Daki smirked, but there was a genuine warmth in her eyes. "Don't get used to it. But... thank you. For seeing me. Not just the demon."

"Anytime," Y/N said gently. "We all need to be seen for who we truly are once in a while."

For a moment, they sat in comfortable silence, the animosity between them replaced by a newfound understanding. Daki felt a warmth in her chest, an unfamiliar but not unwelcome sensation. It felt good to be appreciated, to be seen as something more than just a weapon or a threat.
