After the mission with Tengen, which went surprisingly well despite the small hiccup of figuring out how her demon art worked, she found herself walking back to Shinobu's clinic. The evening air was cool, and she could feel the remnants of adrenaline slowly leaving her system, replaced by a sense of calm satisfaction. The mission had been a success, and she felt more confident in her abilities.

As she neared the clinic, she spotted two familiar figures walking at a slow, comfortable pace along the path. Obanai Iguro and Mitsuri Kanroji were deep in conversation, their close bond evident in their relaxed mannerisms. The sight of them brought back memories of her last encounter with Obanai, when she had inadvertently used her demon art to see into his past. The memory made her heart pound with a mix of guilt and anxiety.

Obanai was the first to notice her approaching. His eyes, always sharp and observant, met hers, and for a moment, she felt a wave of unease wash over her. She recalled the intense emotions she had seen in his memories, the vulnerability he had been forced to reveal. She had apologized profusely at the time, but the weight of that moment still lingered.

Mitsuri, ever the kind and perceptive soul, turned to see what had caught Obanai's attention. When she saw the half-breed girl, she smiled brightly and waved her over.

“Hey! How did your mission go?” Mitsuri asked cheerfully as the girl approached.

The girl managed a small smile in return. “It went well, thank you. Just... trying to get the hang of things.”

Obanai's gaze remained steady, his expression inscrutable. He hadn’t said anything yet, and she couldn't tell what he was thinking. The silence stretched on, and she felt the urge to fill it.

“Obanai... Mitsuri... It’s good to see you both,” she said, trying to keep her tone light despite the nervousness bubbling inside her.

Mitsuri’s warmth was a welcome distraction. “It’s good to see you too! I’m glad your mission went well. You look tired, though. Are you heading back to the clinic?”

She nodded. “Yes, just going to check in and rest.”

Finally, Obanai spoke, his voice calm and measured. “You seem to be adapting to your abilities. That’s good to see.”

There was no hint of reproach in his tone, but she couldn't help but feel a bit apprehensive. “Thank you, Obanai. I’m still learning, but I appreciate your understanding.”

The tension eased slightly as Mitsuri’s cheerful presence filled the space. “You’re doing great! We all have things to learn and challenges to overcome. You’re not alone in that.”
