As we drove on, I glanced out the window, wondering if I would have waited for Arcee. Something told me in my gut to go with Mikayla-it was my only hope to possibly run into Bee who was supposed to be followed by Noah and Mirage.
Where was Noah and Mirage? Had they realized yet that I had been left behind? This was not the first time it had happened.
Now as I sat in the backseat of Trent's truck, I was regretting my decision to go as we bumped down the twisty road.
"You know this is a nice truck," Mikayla smiled, squeezing Trent's arm. "It drives well."
"Sure does, Baby," Trent smirked at her, "but that's cause I'm driving."
Ugh I hated flirting-it was so childish! Especially the way these two kids were acting. I mean come on, can't we all just act like adults here?
Trent was arrogant and Mikayla well she was full of herself. It was still weird for me to meet movie characters in real life.
It was as if I was relieving the movie...wait a minute.
Abruptly I was flung forward as the truck screeched to a halt. My nose hit the seat and I rubbed it, wincing.
"Everybody out," Trent jerked his keys out and jumped from the truck.
Opening the door, I was instantly met by the booming of loudspeakers playing "hip" music.
Flashy cars were parked haphazardly here and there. Girls ran around in crop tops and many guys were shirtless.
"Okay...apparently some kids never grow up," I thought aloud, raising my eyebrows as I watched two buff men wrestling on the ground while a group of giggling girls with drinks watched.
This was definitely not your normal school crowd.
"Hey Momma," a smooth voice startled me. "Why don't you show us what's under your jacket?"
At once I cringed, turning to see a wavy brown-haired boy who was....shirtless....and smirking at me.....How "wonderful".
Cheeks hot, I tucked my red flannel together about me. Underneath I was wearing an black shirt but I was taking no chances. Glaring at the boy, I waved my hand dismissively at him. "Trust me, I'm WAY too old for you."
Hastily I turned back to where Mikayla and Trent were. A group of teens who had gathered around Trent's truck. They were all laughing and shoving each other.
My eyes widened as I beheld what they were looking at. A brown haired boy was dangling stupidly from a tree by his arms. On solid ground beside him stood none other than Samuel J. Witwicky and parked a few feet behind them was Bumblebee!
Had to admit the guy in the tree did look pretty stupid just hanging there in a mock show of strength.
"What are you guys doing here?" one of Trent's friends asked.
"Oh us?" Sam laughed nervously. Then he took on an attempted look of assuredness. "We're here to climb this tree." He patted the rugged trunk for special effect.
"I see that..." Trent smirked. "It looks...fun." I could tell he was mocking Sam. Angrily I made fists with my hands. Come on, picking on other guys? That was such an elementary move.
"Yeah," Sam replied stupidly. I noticed him secretly shoot daggers at the boy who was still climbing the tree.
"You know, I recognize you," Trent continued in that lofty tone. "You tried out for the football team last year, right?"
Shoot, Trent. Why can't you just keep your big stupid mouth shut! I scowled. Samuel was a perfectly nice boy doing his own thing and now Trent was being mean to him for no reason at all other than for amusement.
