Kai had received word the night prior that Lucius and Narcissa felt it would be best for him to skip the Hogsmeade visit, for his own safety, apparently. If he didn't already know all the secret passage ways through the castle then perhaps he would have been more angry, but as it happened he didn't care all that much what his guardians thought. He was leaving before anyone else anyway.

Keeping his hood up, he moved past the bustle of people in Honeydukes, and stopped by the pastry shop next door, he wasn't sure if his father had eaten much since escaping but he figured he'd grab him some food in case. It's not like his father could just walk into a pub and buy himself a meal. With a large amount of pastries and cakes in his rucksack he made his way out to the clearing by the Shrieking Shack. The weather had taken a turn since Halloween, it was a lot colder now.

He paced nervously, he wasn't sure what he was more nervous for; his father not turning up or him actually coming, but either way he felt like he was going to throw up. Checking his watch he noted that it was eight-fifteen, he was starting to lose hope. He stopped his pacing when he noticed the black dog, watching him from the wooded area.

"You came?" He felt a smile tug at his lips, noticing the dog turn to the Shrieking Shack he rose a brow, "You want to go in there?" he asked, feeling a bit weary about the idea. He still didn't definitively know his fathers motives for escaping.

The dog tilted his head and let out a little whine as if he were pleading with the boy.

Letting out a sigh Kai nodded, "Fine, but if you try to murder me in Uncle Moonys hiding place he will kill you.." he teased, moving towards the house with the dog trailing behind him. Unlocking the door with the three different spells Lupin had told him were used for the door and opening it up for the dog, checking behind them for any unwanted eyes before following him inside.

Once the door was closed the boy found that his father had shifted to his human form, stood before him was a very rough and ragged man, who looked like he needed a good meal or two and a hair brush. He looked like the pictures posted all everywhere, just less madness in his eyes, and it's place all he could see was guilt.

"Thank god it was you, I did start questioning the fact that I could have just found a stray dog." Kai said trying to lighten the mood.

Sirius didn't say anything at first, instead he pulled the boy into a tight hug. It was the first time they had seen each other or touched each other in 12 years, it was all a bit overwhelming for them both. Neither of them dared to break the silence or hug for a few minutes, letting it set in.

"Dad.. A-Are you ok?" the younger Black asked quietly, pulling back just enough to look his father in the eyes.

"I'm a lot better now, pup.." Sirius let out a sigh of relief, though Kai may have had his doubts about his fathers intentions, as did he. He thought maybe the Ministry had put the boy up to the task as a trap. "Does anyone know you are here? Moony? Your friends?"

Kai smiled at the nickname, moving to sit on an old dusty couch, claw marks ribbed into the cushions causing the stuffing to poke out. He shook his head at the questions, "No, I told no one. Moonys been asking if I've been helping you into the castle or if I've heard from you, and my friends.. I don't think they'd tell anyone but, I can't risk Sept and Draco finding out, if Lucius found out I'd be shipped off to whatever school os the furthest away."

Sirius joined his son on the couch, "Good, good.. Wait- Lucius Malfoy? Why would he ship you off? He doesn't get a say in your education." He was clearly confused, last he knew Remus had his kid while he was hauled up in Azkaban.

"Lucius and Narcissa are my guardians, dad. They took Uncle Lupin to court about it when I was nine. Said it was in mums will, but Remus and I think it's forged. But it doesn't-"
