Music played loudly in the small vehicle that pulled to a stop in the Seattle Grace Hospital parking lot. Lexie Grey and Gabriella Castellanos screamed the song at the top of their lungs despite the early morning that would usually warrant at least three coffees before functioning. To say the two sunshine girls clicked would be an understatement.

"Okay, you need to go before Cristina skins you alive," Gabs urged her friend as they each ran from the car after locking it. They each had a coffee in hand and a smile as they passed Dr Shepherd.

"Hey, Mischief Buddy."

"Morning, Dr Shepherd," the pair called behind them to the man who smiled in amusement as he watched them sprint up the stairs rather than wait for the elevator.

The two girls were quick to find their lockers and change before the others filed into the room and, like before, the two girls left the room together for their places. Gabriella met up with Alex for rounds while Lexi was paged to the pit where Alex was planning to take his interns after rounds.

With Pierce Halley by her side and James Orouke and Laura Carter behind them, her intern class followed their resident to the first room of the morning. In the room a teenage boy sat with a couple of his friends, all talking and enjoying each other's company while the interns found their places in the room.

"Halley," Alex called, causing the called-upon doctor to fumble with the chart in hand when opening it to present.

"Christian Riley, nineteen. Checked in with a non-lethal gunshot wound at three-nineteen this morning, removal surgery scheduled for three this afternoon," Halley read.

"We were in Texas getting tattoos," one of Christian's male friends explained.

"He insisted on coming home before checking into a hospital," a girl with strawberry blonde hair laughed at the situation.

"How'd it happen?" Dr Karev asked as he assessed the covered wound on the boy's arm.

"We were at a survivalist ranch where my dad worked," the girl explains.

"Bullet bounced off some scrap metal and..." Christian pointed to his leg with a small laugh, "Tada," he smiled lightly, his mood seemingly good for the situation.

"Gonna be quite the scar," Gabriella commented lightly, smiling at the boy who blushed under her stare.

"Makes me look, uh, pretty badass, don't you think?" he stuttered as he asked Dr Cas, his cheeks only getting darker the wider she smiled.
