𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝖼𝗅𝗈𝗎𝖽𝗒 𝗀𝗂𝗋𝗅𝗌
𝗚𝗔𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗔 𝗛𝗔𝗗 𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗞𝗘𝗗 Lexie up from her front door steps late in the night with her siblings in the back seat of the car the night before. The Grey girl cried into her arms about Alex Karev finding out about her dirty secret; her father's alcoholism and scotch addiction. She knew Lexie didn't want anyone to find out aside from Gabby, similar to how the Castellanos girl didn't want anyone to know that she was raising two kids aside from Lexie.
They held their secrets close between their small huddle of trust and helped each other out. The Grey girl lived with Gabby and in return, she paid for takeout once a week and attended any school functions that she could for the kids who called her 'Auntie Lex'.
It worked, their system.
Lexie hated apples, but Gabby loved them. Lexie could draw on an etch-a-sketch, but Gabby could draw like an artist on paper. Lexie could play the trombone, horribly, and Gabby could play the drums and guitar well. Lexie liked maths while Gabby loved science, but they both thrived at each other's favourite subjects in school regardless. Lexie talked with her hands and Gabby did too.
The night her secret was spilled to Dr Karev, she curled up in a ball on Gabriella's bed between her best friend and the kids, the latter fast asleep as the two adults cuddled with a movie and popcorn, avoiding any more alcohol for the night.
"We're way too screwed to be the sunshine girls," Lexie stated out of the blue as the movie came to an end.
"Well they can't call us the cloudy girls," Gabriella retorted playfully, "'Cause I don't want a chance of meatballs."
Lexie laughed out loud, snorting before Gabby threw a hand over her mouth so she wouldn't wake the kids, "I think we're just as dark as the Kardashians," the Grey girl cackled lightly.
"I am not cutting an LVAD wire for you," Gabriella argued, "And neither of us are dying or we'd kill each other, therefore we're not one of our friendly Kardashians."
"Fair point," Lexie wrapped her arms around her best friend as they lay down, "I love you're morbid butt."
Gabriella pressed a kiss to Lexie's forehead, "I love you too."

The following shift, changes had been made effective immediately as Callie was demoted and Dr Bailey was promoted to be the Chief Resident. Gabriella remained mutual about it all, knowing it didn't really affect the interns that managed to complain endlessly about the Nazi's reign that had come too soon to rain terror over all of them.
