Gabriella laughed loudly as Lexie chased Aubrianna through the backyard in the early morning, Maximilan hiding behind the wooden cubby house and swingset Gabby built when they got the house. Lexie tapped Aubrianna on the upper back and the nine-year-old girl groaned as the Grey girl ran in the opposite direction.
Aubrianna began charging towards Maximilan, but when she missed and the boy sprinted away, the younger girl turned her gaze to her big sister, who Lexie hid behind. The owner of the house gently placed her coffee mug on the back veranda railing, ushering Lexie to move before Aubrianna approached and the two women ran as fast as they could, evading tag.
When the Castellanos women heard her phone chime, she stopped in her steps and groaned, "Time to go!" she called, motioning them all to run back inside as she grabbed her mug. The three jogged in behind her as she put her mug in the dishwasher, the others grabbing their school or work bags.
"I feel like your child," Lexie joked as she moved out the front door with the two kids, Gabriella chuckling as she grabbed her work materials, slinging her bag over her shoulder.
"You are," Gabby replied, pushing Lexie in the direction of her car with the kids, locking up her house before the clock struck six.
After dropping the kids at before-school care and calling their nanny to ensure she'd pick them up, the two interns arrived at Seattle Grace Hospital and split up upon entry. Mark came across the Castellanos girl at the coffee cart and slung his arm over her shoulder, dragging her away with him once she had her coffee in hand, still dressed in day clothes.
"So, you're on Callie's service today?" he sparked up conversation as he dragged her towards Derek who was talking to the Chief and a blonde doctor she'd never met.
"Finally," Gabriella grinned, "We haven't worked together since the Brian incident and I like her teaching style."
"Are you saying I'm not a good teacher?" Mark questioned with mock hurt, hand on his chest as he stared down at the brunette girl.
"I watched you send Dr Halley to get you a coffee twice because you didn't want to hear his questions," Gabriella deadpanned, "And you had a go at Dr Carter because she forgot to ask for extra mayo on your sandwich that she had to travel twenty minutes for."
"Okay, Callie's a better teacher," Mark admitted, pulling her to a stop beside Derek as he stood beside the Chief.
"And this is Dr Mark Sloan, head of plastics, and Dr Gabriella Castellanos," Dr Webber gestured to them, the pair taking turns shaking the woman's hand as the Chief gestured to her, "Erica Hahn."
