CHAPTER 13
STAR
Walking into this crummy old, cold, nasty, moldy, dingy castle was the last thing on my TO-DO list today. When Claude said that one of his informants located the wood fairies near here. I didn't think it would be like this. I thought it would be more in a wooded place not here.
Wood fairies yeah, right. I never thought that something like that would even be around here until Claude and Gypsy started handing me books and scrolls; I was floored reading all about them. There was also a lot more information than that.
They wouldn't show themselves to us. Everything that I read on these creatures; that yes, they do exist. They are little, tiny people, that are smaller than a barbie doll from what I gathered. I don't even know why I was shocked; but I was. This was a new world with new things and species. It shouldn't of surprised me but it did.
Reading about if they accepted you than your good; if not your screwed, blued, tattooed, and screwed again sideways repeatedly. Not really what I am looking forward to if you know what I mean. Hoping that they would scents that we weren't there to harm them, but to help them.
I know that Claude likes the dark and cold and all, but this is bad. How could someone not like to stay warm? It unheard of. Why be a popsicle, when you can be the whole damn fire pit. Looking at Claude he looked pleased with the sight that was in front of us.
On a side note, something I didn't find in the books was, Claude had a strong theory on the wood fairies having connection directly to the Moon Goddess. Whoever the hell that is. We need answers and everyone thought that this was the way to do it. That this Goddess was the one to hold all the answers that everyone had.
I guess there was a war coming our way. A big one at that. From the reports we have been getting, it started to sound like Earth. Some parts of this world were dyeing off slowly, and not at a rapid rate like earth did. I wonder, if it is the same thing? Could it be?
Another theory Claude has is, that he thinks I'm full of shit sometimes when I talk about Earth and how it used to be before it went straight to hell. When he asked me if there were vampires there, I almost lost it. When I told him about the books; I would find about vampires it was Syfy and what not, that they weren't real there and only fantasy.
He almost fainted when I told him the books said vampires would burn up during the daylight. It was the funniest thing ever. Big ole bad vampire wanting to faint because they couldn't go outside during the day. Because they can do it here.
Looking to our left than right, everything was empty and quiet. " You take one and I will take the other? " Asking, Claude, he nods his head.
" Link me if you find them and don't do anything irrational this time, wait until I get to you. Understood? " Claude saying in a dead serious tone.
" Of course. You have nothing to worry about old man. " Giving Claude a cheeky smile, I started walking down the hall pulling my glasses down.
I loved these glasses. They looked like regular sunglasses made for a badass. Like yours, truly. Claude and Gypsy made me some kick ass glasses for missions just like this one. This was like some real black ops stuff like my parents did when they were alive. Being able to see through the wall with special vision.
Like seeing wood fairies for example. There are different heat sensors to identify other species and such, since I'm not from around here and all. It helps a lot, since I have no magic powers or anything like everyone else around here. My glasses need to see whatever it is first before it identified. It's kind of like getting DNA without getting it. It was pretty cool.
