When the Star Fell in Love With the Moon

Together Again

*This is not the introductory hook I had originally intended -
This chapter is important but pretty boring so just bear with me as the rest are better ;)*

A loud whistle rang out as James and Peter noisily bustled down the train car, looking through each cabin as they passed.

"Oi! I found him!!" James said rather loudly and triumphantly, as he and Peter rambunctiously pushed through the cabin door .
Sirius groaned and followed them in.
He hadn't quite gotten over the morbid and unsettling events of the summer he spent with his family... however a smile began to creep back on his face as he took in the scene before him. He was safe, back at home surrounded by his favorite people and those who actually cared for him...unlike his parents.
Sirius took the empty seat next to James, putting his stuff down lazily on the floor. He looked across at Peter and at the curled up, sleeping, ball who was Remus Lupin.

It was just a full moon  Sirius remembered.

Remus was always exhausted on the first day back and usually slept on the train ride back to Hogwarts. Sirius scanned the sleeping boy for new scars and let out a defeated sigh when he realized he could barely see the boy. Remus had his legs covered and tucked up to his chest and an oversized hoodie pulled up over his head and face as he curled up against the window, sleeping.

"What's up mate?" James looked over, questioning Sirius

Sirius looking up from Remus, meeting James eyes as he realized he had heard him sigh.

"I'm looking for new scars" Sirius said quietly and nodded to Remus

Just incase he's listening in his sleep
Sirius knew how self conscious he was about them.
James mouthed "ohh" back before looking over at Remus himself

"It's sad really"

"I know" James sighed in response

"I wish we could help him over the summer months as well"

"Me too" Pete chimed in

Sirius looked up at both of them
"Well at least we've got him for the next 8 months". "And who knows what mischief we'll get up to in that time" Sirius said, smirking

The train ride went by faster than expected as Peter, James and Sirius played a game of Exploding Snap the whole time.  As the boys began to gather their stuff, James looked to Sirius, nudging him a bit
"We should wake him" nodding towards Remus who was still curled up and passed out
Sirius nodded before going over and lightly shaking the boy

"Ay Remus we gotta go"
Remus groaned before slowly standing up and greeting them

"Hey guyyss" Remus said sleepily rubbing his eyes

"Holy Fuck Remus!" James exclaimed
"I mean you've always been tall but bloody hell!" "What are you now? Six two or something?!"

"Idunno" Remus muttered, shrugging, and suppressing a smile.

He hadn't thought he'd changed that much over the summer.
The wolf to Remus's dismay had become exceptionally restless and  aggressive in the past few months. Remus had spent most of the summer, working out/running around. He had hoped that by the time the full moon came each month that the wolf would be a bit more "tame" because he was more worn out.
He wasn't very sure as to how effective it had been but being in a small cottage town for the whole summer, he wasn't sure what else to fill his time with.

"You filled out too!" Pete elbowed Remus as he stuffed a bite of the sandwich he had packed into his mouth, breaking Remus out if his thoughts.

This caused Sirius to look up.
