When the Star Fell in Love With the Moon

Seriously Sirius?

The rest of the week went by fairly smoothly.
Remus was in pain but that was to be expected and he tried not to lash out at anyone about it.
He also had something, well rather someone else to keep his thoughts off the fast
approaching full moon. Jack and him had gotten pretty close over the past two weeks. They met every evening after class and would talk/study in the library together before going on a walk and finding a place to snog. The snogging hadn't been all they were doing though, each boy had taken their turn, testing the waters with handjobs, among other things.

This particular evening, Remus and Jack had just finished their usual make out session and were sitting together in the courtyard, enjoying the evening.

"Hey Remus?" Jack asked quietly

"Yeah?" He responded.

"Well I've been thinking.. and I want you to be my boyfriend". Jack was smiling at him, patiently awaiting his reply.

Remus should've seen this coming, I mean they had been meeting every night for two weeks now. Honestly Remus had thought it was more of a casual hook up situation.

He hadn't really striked me as the boyfriend type.. Plus the whole thing with Sirius...

Remus didn't like it but Sirius drunkenly flirting with him had further complicated things.

And now with Jack asking to be my boyfriend? I.. I don't know

"Ehrm so?" Jack cleared his throat.

Shit he's still waiting on my reply

"Umm you're amazing and I think you would make a great boyfriend but..there's a lot I'm dealing with right now.."

Not to mention the full moon right around the corner..

"And um I just don't think it's fair to you to drag you into the midst of things.."

"I just.. I just don't think I'd be a very good boyfriend at the moment."

"Do you mind if I take the next day or two and think about it? Maybe get some things in order?" Remus finished.

He felt bad, he knew that was not the answer Jack was hoping for.

I mean there's nothing wrong with him, he's hot, kind, smart.. He should be everything I want.
Just...
He's not Sirius.

In Remus's eyes, Sirius was perfection. But he was also not Remus's for the taking.

"I'm sorry I don't know at the moment, you're a great guy" Remus tried to apologize.

"Look, it's fine, I get it."

"You gotta lot going on. If anything I just appreciate your honestly" Jack said softly.

Remus could see he was hurt and just hiding it.

He really is a good guy.. It's flattering that he sees anything in me.

"Thank you, really, I promise I'll get back to you". Remus gave him smile.

"Of course"

"I better get going though, meet here on Sunday? How's 5?" Jack gave him a smile before stepping forward and giving Remus a soft kiss on the cheek.

"5 sounds great" Remus smiled back, blushing
Before mouthing"thank you" at him as he turned to leave.

Jack nodded and winked at Remus, then walked off. Remus watched him go, taking a deep breath and smiling to himself before making his way back inside and up to the dorm. He was still blushing as he walked in. His friends all looked up as he entered, James was the first to greet him.
