"You okay Pads? You look like you've seen a ghost." James asked, glancing towards Sirius as he threw on his robes for the day.
"Huh?" Sirius said looking up.
It took a second for his brain to load.
"Oh. Yeah no I'm fine" he answered, brushing it off.
"Nightmare?" Remus was now looking at him as well.
I guess you could say that
"Yeah" Sirius mumbled.
"Pads, you should've told me, I was up" Remus took a seat next to him on the bed.
"I thought you were asleep" Sirius said shrugging.
maybe it's a good thing he didn't come to me..
Remus thought, recalling the night.
"Never mind then" Remus said giving Sirius a smile.
Remus was so close to him. The early morning light illuminating his features in a warm glow, making Sirius's heart pound.
He's stunning
"Damn" Sirius breathed out.
"What Pads?"
"Erm just thinking about the day, that's all" Sirius said clearing his throat, breaking his gaze and getting up.
No
I can't be attracted to my best friend! It'll ruin everything
Fuck
How am I supposed to be around him? He's bloody gorgeous
Sirius groaned and began to get ready for class.
Sirius was completely spaced out staring at the back of Remus's head in transfiguration.
Is that gold in his hair?
How have I never noticed this?
He has light brown hair but with the sun hitting it right now...
"Black are you paying attention?"
It's kinda curly too, and like messy but not?
Remus whipped around to face him, startling Sirius.
"Sirius, mate, you there?" Remus was staring back at him with a concerned look on his face.
Oh right
"Yeah" Sirius said mumbling.
"Sorry professor"
To Sirius's dismay, the rest of his morning classes continued like this. He was stuck in his own mind, his thoughts seemingly glued to Remus. They were now at lunch, sitting in their usual spots with James, Lily, and Peter, sitting across from him and Remus.
"You should've seen the look on her face!! James boasted loudly about their latest prank.
He, James and Peter had jinxed a particularly snotty know it all Ravenclaw so that all her books and papers now had invisible ink. Additionally they had made it so that every time she misspelled a word, which probably wasn't often, that word would stop being invisible but would remain misspelled in her book. Remus didn't join them on this one because he was too busy "studying in the library" but Sirius knew it had been because he was spending that time with Jack. Which made Sirius particularly sour.
"From here on out she'll be reading about the magical world of "Lizards"" James cracked up.
Remus laughed loudly, putting a hand down on Sirius's thigh, almost subconsciously. Sirius was laughing too but almost choked when he noticed. It wasn't uncommon for Remus to lay a hand on his back or legs briefly and Sirius didn't mind. The problem this time was where his hand was. Remus's hand was resting on Sirius's upper thigh, far too close to his groin.
