Jade's Pov

My alarm woke me up... stupid invention if you ask me. I felt an ache down my lower back, thats when i remembered what happened last night. I slowly crawled out of bed towards the bathroom and stood in front of the mirror. My cheekbone was lightly blue but when i lifted my shirt there was a deep purple bruise on the left side of my lower back. I wince as i touch it... thank God its winter. I took a quick shower and walked out of the bathroom wrapping a towel around my body.

I grab my phone to check my messages and to my surprise i do in fact have a message..... from no other than Jason.

Jason: Goodmorning, sleep well?

A smile creeps its way on to my face when i read it... i quickly respond

Jade: yeah sure... did you?

I put my phone back on my night stand as i walk to my closet and take out a pair of jeans and a purple sweater... i grab my make up bag and start applying foundation. I don't usually wear foundation but I am not in the mood to get questions so a full face make up it is... i just hope it'll cover good enough... i hear my phone buzz and grab it just to see another message from Jason

Jason: yeah i did actually :)
Jason: soo.....  what ya doing?
Jade: just getting ready for work, leaving in about 10 mins :)
Jason: oh well have a good day then:)
Jade: thankss

I finish my make up and quickly text sam that im on my way

Jade: omw.... Going as fast as i can, hoping dad's already at work....

I walk towards my window and don't see his car in the driveway.... Which means dad already left for work so i'm in the clear.... I hope mama's okay though

I throw my phone into my bag and hurry down the stairs to see my mom making breakfast in the kitchen

"Goodmorning sweetie, you're working today?" She asks as she flips the pancakes

I'm relieved she's in a good mood... probably because he isn't home "yeah i'm going there now... its cleaning day so maybe that means free flowers for you" i smile

She smiles too "that would definitely lighten this place up"

I give her a knowing look "well... see you tonight then" i say as i walk out

"Wait... don't you want breakfast?" She asks pointing towards the pancakes

"No i think i'll run by starbucks real quick" i lie cause I'll be late if i eat

She frowns "okay then... have a good day sweetie" she says as i grab my car keys, put my coat on and walk out the door

My phone pings and i see Sam texted me

Samson🐒: please hurry..... karen just arrived💀

I laugh out loud when i read this... Karen is our deliverer that we hired a few weeks back, her name is Jessica though... she just always has something to say about everything which is why we like to call her Karen... just between us two though

Jade🦧: I'll be there in 10... hang in there

I turn the radio on and drive my way through traffic trying my hardest to not be any later than i already was.

I arrive somewhere between 8:00 and 8:30 AM and when i get out of my car Sam is already outside with Jessica next to her who seems to be rattling on about something as they both have a cigarette between their fingers

"No cause why would you get pink roses and not red roses if you want to surprise your girlfriend i said to him, and then he said pink is her favourite color but who cares... red symbolises love right.. so i told him he couldn't buy them because that would be wrong right?? Right Samantha??" Jessica said

Sam just side eyed me and turned back to Jessica, annoyed as she placed her fingers on her tempels "Jessica.... We work at a florist shop.... People can buy flowers at a florist.... Our job is to make sure they actually do buy the flowers. so when someone wants to buy pink roses to surprise their girlfriend.... YOU FUCKING SELL THEM!" Sam shouted and then let out a deep breath and then she walked my way as she threw her cigarette on the asfalt, leaving Jessica shocked..

"Wow" i say "i so glad I witnessed that" i try not to laugh

Sam puts her head in her hands "remind me again, why exactly did we hire her... i just wanna sell flowers in peace"

I laugh and say "unless you know anyone else who knows how to drive a truck she's staying, but maybe i can make sure she wont be behind the counter again" i look at the time which reads 08:24 "come on lets get inside.... We're about to open" i lock my arm with hers and we walk inside

Sam and i started this business together about a year ago.. we both love flowers so we thought why not start a shop. It's a lot harder then you'd think though. we haven't been open for very long but it's starting to look like something..... we're getting more and more customers everyday. One day Dahlia's will be big, at least... that's the dream

I readjusted some bouquets before i turned around the sign on the door that now says open. I then get back behind the counter where Sam was already sitting filling out some orders we got from online while Jessica was in the back loading the truck with orders... i simply grabbed a book and waited until a customer came my way... God i love this job...
