When six a.m. rolled around, Trevor managed to get himself up and ready to get to work and before heading out of the bedroom, he kissed his wife and daughter. He then enclosed them and made it to the hallway, but he knew better than to leave before telling his mother he was leaving.

He crept down the hall and he opened her bedroom door, peaking in gently just to see her curled into Lindsey.

He pumped his brow a bit but shook off any thoughts and quietly walked in and leaned in to touch her arm.

"Mom?" he whispered, bringing his hand from her elbow to her shoulder. "Mama?"

"Hm?" she kind of gasped and looked at him but turned over.

"I gotta go to work, mom. I'll see you later, okay?" he whispered. "I'll be back about ten-thirty to take Annelle to campus and then we should both be there to pick up Ireland by five."

She nodded and extended her hand out to him because she wanted a kiss and that was all.

He leaned in and he kissed the side of her face.

"I love you. Have a good day."

"Thanks. Love you too," he replied and stood tall to walk out.

...

Just an hour later, Stevie was up and as she rolled over onto her back, she looked out the window.

A moment later, Lindsey opened his eyes and he kind of stretched out which caught her attention.

"You're up early," she kind of mumbled.

"It's Monday... I gotta go to work," he replied.

"Oh, yeah... I didn't even think twice about what day it was yesterday," she yawned. "I just know you called and it made my day..."

"I'm glad," he grinned.

"No, I'm serious. It really did... And with everything that's going on now, I felt much less alone. I never have anybody to talk to when chaos ensues."

"Well, you do now..." he dropped his hand to on top of hers and he patted it gently.

"I appreciate it..."

"Maybe the food was just an excuse to come over and hang out without asking to come over, but it's like in the back of my head I had it planned," he smirked.

"From Friday to Sunday, did you miss me?" she teased.

"I did..." he chuckled. "I'm getting so used to being with you a few times a week that I was feeling lonely."

"I knew I was onto something the first night I invited you to spend the night... The company really helps a person out..."

"It does," he agreed.

"Shelly was telling me that she was worried about you..."

"Oh..." he kind of rolled his eyes with a smile. "Yeah?"

"Mhmm, but when I was defending you; telling her she didn't need to worry about you, she mentioned that I was right because you had me... I thought it was weird considering we're not a couple. At least we know we're just friends, but it really seems otherwise to everybody..."

"It does... I went to have coffee in the staff lounge on campus on last week. A few people from around this part of town came and they were congratulating me on finally getting some."

The woman could not help but bust out laughing that she planted her face into her pillow.

"I was really pissed off about it too," he mentioned.
