The book of END ! - Spring festival (part 3)

Then we then sat under a cherry blossom tree , near a river

As I sat down , Natsu was extremely quiet and looked as if he was in a deep thought

So I sat down and looked down , waiting for the right moment to speak

"Lucy ?"

"Yes ,Natsu "

"Even though I told you about all the adventures and new experiences I had over the year I was away , would you be mad if I told you , I left some things out , something I don't want to tell you ?"

"What kind of things"

"Like my training ?"

"No silly , training is training , it's probably something super complex that I wouldn't understand "

" okay , well what if I told you that my training wasn't even possible , what if I told you , the stuff I'm able to do now are suppose to be impossible ... But it wasn't , for me ..."

"Natsu , I don't get it , I'm not sure what your saying "

"Over the past year , ever since i left fairytail .... ever since I left you , I was alone , I didn't bump into ANYONE , other than gildarts once In the mountains , and since I left you and the guild , I felt very lonely ... I mean , yes I had happy ... But it was a different kind of lonely , and it was at this time when I was lonely , that strange things started to happen to me "

Natsus face quickly turned emotionless and pale , he stared straight at the floor as he started shivering

"Natsu?"

I move over to his side and and grab his hand

"Everything's fine , I'm right here , it's okay "

His shivering slowly stopped , as he continued

"There were nights ,that I'd have dreams of dying , and other night where I had dreams of zeref ... "

Zeref !!! Why him ?

"And Every time I had those dreams , I'd wake up screaming in agony as my body was blown up in pain , it felt as though my body was changing its structure or  its way of being , night after night I was afraid of falling asleep , so I'd distract myself by training non stop so wouldn't think about the dreams and to keep myself awake , soon I was able to go a whole week without have any sleep ... But it got worst once I started seeing things ..."

"What did you see ?"

"I started to see black shadows at first , so I thought it was due to the sleep deprivation I was experiencing , so I choose to take a nap , knowing that I'd go though the pain when I woke up , but ... The pain , it didn't happen , I woke up and ... No pain . I was stocked , but more than that ,I was happy because it had been going on for so long ... Well , that day , I started my training ,and I saw one of the black shadows from the corner of my right eye , so I followed it , it kept moving in between the trees until it suddenly disappeared , and right before me , stood zeref , and all the Tartarus members ."

"Zeref , Tartarus ?"

"Yes . I kept asking what they wanted , but they never answered , they didn't even respond to me . Then at the same time , all of them start chanting 'E.N.D , E.N.D , E.N.D" over and over Again

"End? The book of end , the one zeref took once you and gray defeated the king of the underworld ?"

"Yes , the book of end ... The most powerful demon zeref created ...
Then I realized that it was an illusion , that was in my head... And again the agonizing pain hit my body in a flash , and what to seemed as though my body was changing before , didn't just seem to be changing it actually was changing .., I could hear my own bones crack and move around in my body as if they were repositioning , and it was though this pain ... That the thought of taking my own life , at the time , it sounded like a good way to go "

Tears fell down my face as Natsu explained to me the agony he went through , I couldn't bear to imagine the pain he had to go through , and to think that it got to the point where he actually thought of killing himself , it rips my heart apart

"But then , I thought about you , Lucy "

"Wait what ?"

"I thought about how lonely you'd be if I left you , you didn't have you dad around anymore and you had already lost so many people , I didn't want to make you cry , and although i didn't know the guild was disbanded and I thought the guild was going to be there for you , I didn't think it was enough ... And then , I thought about the promise I made you , that'd I'd come back in a years time . Then flashes of your beautiful smile Brought me back Lucy , I remembered seeing the image of you when you first got your fairytail mark of your hand .... And That , Lucy .... Is what pulled me back into reality , that is what stopped my pain "

Natsus POV

I look over at Lucy , and I see her in tears

"Oh I'm sorry Lucy , I didn't mean to make your cry. But you had to know , and I felt bad not telling you these things "

"It's okay Natsu , these are tears of joy !"

"Really ?"

"Yes ! I was able to bring you back from a living nightmare and it stopped your pain , I'm glad it stopped !"

She said as she wiped her tears

"Lucy?"

"Yes?"

I immediately embraced Lucy in my arms as I wrapped my arms around her into a tight hug , and I whispered in her ear

"Thank you Lucy , for everything"

If only she knew , my feelings ...

The memories of her , and her every existence are the only thing that kept my true self in control , she is the reason why the world is brighter and why I'm standing here as myself today

my love for her is the key , to my survival and everyone's survival
She is the key to everything .

Without her , zeref's strongest demon would bring hell to this earth , killing everything and anything ...
