As the game concluded, the crowd's energy was still electric, buzzing with excitement. Bridget's face was alight with a new kind of joy, one born from the simple pleasure of making friends on her own terms. She clutched her phone, freshly populated with new contacts, her smile telling a story of connections made and memories to come.

I was still basking in the warmth of my own newfound friendships when Travis appeared. His presence always had a way of adding an extra spark to the atmosphere.

"Hey, how are my favorite Swift ladies doing tonight?" he asked, his voice filled with genuine affection, giving me a hug.

Bridget turned towards him, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "We had the best time! And guess what, I made some new friends," she beamed, holding up her phone as evidence.

I couldn't help but smile at her enthusiasm, feeling a sense of pride and relief. "And so did I," I added, sharing a knowing look with Travis. "Seems like we both had a successful night."

Travis's eyes softened as he looked at us, a sense of contentment settling over the three of us. "That's what I like to hear. Life's all about having fun."

His words echoed my thoughts perfectly. In that booth, with the stadium lights dimming around us and the echoes of the game fading into the night, it felt like everything had fallen into place.

The air was thick with the aftermath of the game's excitement as I broached the topic with Bridget. "Hey Bee, Tree's going to take you home tonight. She'll be, uh, babysitting," I said, bracing myself for her reaction.

Bee's eyes rolled so far back, I thought they might get stuck. "Mom, seriously? I don't need a babysitter," she protested, yet there was a hint of amusement in her tone.

I smiled, appreciating her understanding. "I know, I know. But humor me, okay?"

As we made our way out, Bridget's eyes suddenly lit up at the sight of Travis' sleek convertible. "That's the getaway car you've been singing about!" she exclaimed, a wide grin on her face.

Tree chuckled. "Why don't you announce it a bit louder, Bee? I don't think everyone heard you," she joked with a playful glint in her eye.

Bridget, ever the spirited one, was about to take her up on the challenge, but Tree quickly added, panic visible in her eyes, "I'm just kidding, please don't!"

We all burst into laughter, the moment light and carefree. Bridget's excitement was infectious, and it was moments like these that I treasured the most - simple, unguarded, and filled with the laughter of those I loved.

I leaned in and planted a gentle kiss on Bridget's cheek, whispering, "Goodnight, sweetheart. Be good for Tree, okay?"

Bridget's grin was mischievous as she replied, "I can't promise anything, mom. It's too much fun watching Tree get all nervous every time I open my mouth."

In the background, Tree playfully scoffed. "Oh, is that so? Well, maybe I'll just have to put on ME on loop tonight and you can't stop it no matter what," she threatened in jest, her tone light and teasing.

Bridget's eyes grew wide, "you wouldn't dare! Do you want me to be permanently scarred screaming 'hey kids, spelling is fun!' For the rest of my life?"

I laughed, "hey, no ME slander please!"

Their playful banter was a comfort to me, a reminder of the normalcy and laughter we could still find in our lives. As I watched them, a sense of contentment washed over me, knowing that Bridget was in good hands with Tree, who had become like family to us. With a smile, I waved them goodbye, feeling reassured and grateful for the loving, supportive people surrounding us. Meanwhile, I entered my so-called getaway car and got ready for an adventure of a lifetime.
