Taylor's POV

Sitting across from Travis, I took a deep breath, appreciating his protective instincts but also recognizing the need to address the complexities of our lives. It's one of those moments where Tree's PR mindset rubbed off on me more than I wanted it to - but I knew I had the responsibility to address this.

"Travis, I can't tell you how much it means to me that you stood up for Bridget," I began, looking into his eyes. "But we need to talk about how we handle situations like this. The world we live in... it's complicated."

Travis nodded, his expression open and understanding. "I get it, Taylor. I might've acted on impulse today. I just couldn't stand seeing someone hurt Bee like that."

I smiled softly, appreciating his honesty. "I love that about you, but we're constantly under the microscope. Every action we take has consequences, especially for Bee. She's still learning how to navigate this."

He reached across, taking my hand gently. "I know. I'm sorry if I made things more difficult. I promise to think more about the bigger picture next time."

"That's all I ask," I replied, squeezing his hand. "We're a team now, and that means finding the right balance in protecting each other and handling the public eye."

Travis smiled, a genuine warmth in his eyes. "I'm on board with that. Whatever it takes to support you and Bee."

In my mind, I couldn't help but compare this moment to the countless times I had wished for Joe to be there for us like this. I had begged, pleaded, and hoped for a partner who would stand by my side, to support and protect Bridget and me in the chaotic world we lived in. And here was Travis, stepping into that role with a grace and willingness that took my breath away.

It was more than just his physical presence; it was the emotional support, the understanding, and the readiness to be a part of our lives in a meaningful way. It made me realize the stark contrast between what I had always wanted and what I had been settling for.

I thought about the years of navigating fame and public scrutiny, often feeling like I was doing it alone, constantly shielding Bridget from the harsh realities of the spotlight. And now, Travis was offering to share that burden, to be a partner in the truest sense.

His willingness to learn, to adapt, and to be there for us was a balm to my weary heart. It was more than just a romantic gesture; it was a commitment to our family, to our well-being, and to our future together.

As I sat there, holding his hand, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. Maybe, just maybe, this was the beginning of a new chapter, one where we didn't have to face the world alone, where we could lean on each other and build a life filled with love, understanding, and mutual support.
