Another few months have passed and things were going pretty smoothly. As Travis started moving his things into the Swift residence, the house was filled with a new kind of energy – a mix of excitement, chaos, and the kind of witty banter that made even the most mundane tasks feel like an adventure. It was just like any other day between the three of us to be honest, but this time, it was even more special as it marked yet another milestone in Travis' and I's relationship.
"Wow, you weren't kidding about your sneaker collection," I teased Travis as he lugged in yet another box labeled 'Shoes'. His collection could rival any sneaker store.
He shot me a playful grin. "You know, I could say the same about your collection of... what are these? Glittery cowboy boots?"
I laughed, picking up a pair and waving them in the air. "Don't knock them till you've tried them. They might just be your style."
Bridget chimed in, her eyes dancing with amusement. "I bet we could find a pair that fits you, Travis. A nice hot pink, maybe?"
He raised an eyebrow, feigning consideration. "Hot pink, huh? Only if Taylor agrees to wear one of my football jerseys to her next concert."
I scoffed, pretending to ponder. "Deal, but only if it's bedazzled."
As the day went on, the house slowly transformed with Travis' belongings finding their place among ours. It wasn't just the physical items that were blending together; it was our lives, our routines, and our personalities.
At one point, Bridget found an old photo album of Travis from his college days. She held it up with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Oh, this is gold. Wait until I show this to Selena and Blake!"
Travis tried to grab the album, but I intervened, flipping through the pages. "No, no, let's see... Ah, the classic frat boy look. Nice."
"Hey, we all have our phases," Travis defended with a laugh, looking over my shoulder. "But let's not forget about Taylor's country princess phase."
I smirked. "Hey, that phase was iconic, it launched my whole career. And don't think I've forgotten about your infamous man bun phase."
The banter continued, filling the house with laughter and light-hearted teasing. It felt like we were not just moving Travis' things in, but weaving our lives together in a tapestry of love, laughter, and a shared future.
In the midst of the chaos, Bridget looked around and sighed contentedly. "You know, I think I'm going to like having someone around here who isn't just mom."
"Hey!" I put my heart on my chest and faked offense.
Travis winked at her. "Glad to be of service, Bee."
As the sun set, casting a warm glow through the windows, our house – now truly our home – felt complete. The laughter and banter were the first notes in the melody of our new life together, a life that promised to be as vibrant and lively as the day had been.
During dinner, Bridget couldn't help but sneak peeks at her phone, scrolling through social media. I caught her and gave her the usual 'phones away at dinner' look, but there was a mischievous smirk on her face that made me curious.
"What's so funny over there, Bee?" I asked, trying to maintain a stern tone, but her smirk was contagious.
She looked up, her eyes twinkling. "Oh, just reading about the latest member of the Swift household. Apparently, 'Travis Swift' is trending. Has a nice ring to it, don't you think?"
Travis chuckled, shaking his head. "Travis Swift, huh? I guess I could get used to that. But I think 'Travis Kelce' has its own charm."
I laughed, reaching for my own phone. "Let me see this."
As I scrolled through the articles, Bridget leaned over, pointing at one particularly dramatic headline. "Look at this one, 'Travis Swift Moves In: The End of the Football Era?' As if moving in with us means you're giving up football."
Travis feigned a serious nod. "Yep, I'm trading in my cleats for glittery cowboy boots and a guitar. Seems like a fair trade."
Bridget giggled. "I can't wait to see you in those boots. Maybe you can perform a duet with mom at her next concert."
I raised my eyebrows, playing along. "Oh, that's a great idea. Travis, you can sing backup for 'Shake It Off.'"
He pretended to ponder. "I'll do it, but only if I get to wear one of those fabulous sequin jackets. And a man bun, obviously."
We all burst into laughter, the sound filling the room with warmth and joy.It was moments like these, simple and filled with laughter, that made everything feel right. The world outside might have its opinions and speculations, but inside, it was just us, our little family, finding joy in the little things and making memories that would last a lifetime.
