Based on 3x20 "Lo-Fi", with a scene from 3x19. Emily's yearbook photo.
It had been a couple weeks since the weekend. Ryan and Emily have gone through their usual routines along with Emily helping drive the kids to school and back, also driving Ryan to work. Ryan's arm has started to heal and had got out of the sling but still had to be in a cast. He was able to drive again but he still rode with Emily to work.
Of course that fueled the gossip column of the BAU but Ryan and Emily ignored that. They both had an understanding that nobody would really understand their closeness and they didn't let that bother them. They were just living their live, enjoying their friendship and their closer relations and not caring about anything in the world.
They we're currently in the BAU sitting at their desks. Ryan listened as Garcia and Reid teased Emily over something, "It's remarkable. Something like this makes you question everything you thought you knew." Reid stated.
"Yeah. It's like the Monolith in 2001." Garcia said. She was sitting cross legged on his desk as Reid was looking at a picture of some sort. Ryan didn't know what of but he guessed it had something to do with Emily, considering she was trying to ignore them. "So there was actually a time when something like this was socially acceptable?" Reid asked.
"Oh...you're young. The eighties left a lot of people confused." Garcia said as she grabbed the picture. Ryan feeling nothing but curiosity at this point, got up from his desk to take a look. When he came to see what Garcia and Reid were looking he let out a chuckle. When Emily turned to look at him, he coughed to cover it up.
"Well I mean everybody has their own...style at that age." Ryan said while still trying to cover up his laugh. "Oh of course they do." Garcia said concurring with Ryan. "However this is, uh, especially sad, though." She added showing the picture to Prentiss.
Prentiss gave them all an annoyed look and grabbed the picture. "All right, very funny, you guys." Prentiss said as she looked at the picture of herself"Very funny. What did you do to it?" She asked. "Do?" Garcia asked back. "Well, you obviously altered it in photoshop or something. That hair?" Prentiss asked, further Garcia shook her head, "Oh, no, pussycat. That's all you. Garfield High, class of '89."
Prentiss continued looking at the picture in disbelief, "You really didn't change anything?" Garcia shrugged "I hacked it, as is. You're seriously trying to tell me you don't remember rocking that look?" Prentiss just kept looking at the picture.
"Perhaps your lack of recognition stems from a dissociative fugue suffered in adolescence. Say, at a siouxsie and the Banshees concert." Reid said making Ryan and Garcia chuckle. "It's so weird. It's like some other life." Prentiss muttered.
Ryan came over to her desk and ribbed her shoulder. "It's not that bad, if you ask me it's actually kinda cute." Ryan said making Emily look up at him. "You think so?" She asked. "Yeah I mean it almost reminds me of the rebellious phase that some of the girls at my high school did. There was a certain attractiveness to it." Ryan informed.
Reid and Garcia shared looks. "So your saying you"re attracted to high school Prentiss." Garcia said. Ryan shrugged "I would've dated her." Ryan said. Causing both Reid and Garcia's eyes to widen. Emily didn't say anything but looked up gratefully at Ryan. She felt a familiar thump in her chest.
Garcia then got a mischievous smile on her face, "Maybe we should look at you're high school photo and do a comparison." Ryan turned to her with a serious look "Garcia, do not even think about it." Garcia laughed "Too late, I'm already thinking about it." She said and made to go back to her lair. "Garcia." Ryan called out but she was already gone.
"What are you so worried, about, it can't be as bad as this." Emily said, before she got a teasing smirk on her face and gave Ryan a side way glance. "Or is it?" she said. "Wouldn't you like to know." Ryan responded with a teasing smile himself as he went back to his seat.
