Chapter 18 - Your Smile

It was his first time being here. Taehyun used to see images of this place in magazines and on television but seeing it in real life. It sure was a unique experience. What amazed taehyun the most was the houses. A village that got famous especially for it. The vibrant colors made the entire village stand out. Taehyun also notices that there were three or five houses that had murals drawn on the walls. Taehyun smiled. He wanted to remember this moment forever. He knew what exactly he must do. Like any other person would have done he quickly took out his smart phone and captured tons of images of the village.

He looked up at the sky and realized that the weather sure did help him with taking beautiful pictures of the village. The sky was pink, orange, even a bit of light purple. This place sure gave off romantic feeling to it. Just like that he could not help but think of dayeol too looking at the evening sky.

He missed him so much. Getting to see him after a month made him super excited. However, there was something else that made him nervous other than being extremely excited. It would be also his first-time meeting with dayeol's father. Dayeol had shown him images of his father before, but he had not met him in person. And it was also one of the reasons he always envied Sa yeong and Ye beom.

On the other hand, dayeol and his team were busy investigating the drug trades that are happening in Clubs. Dayeol was exhausted. After today he would finally get to go home and sleep, he thought. More than anything he could not wait to see taehyun. He could not show his excitement though in front of his colleagues. He got his phone out to check on taehyun's whereabouts but right then he got a text message from him. He quickly opened the message to see an image. An image of his village.

"Dayeol what are you smiling at?" his Sunbae popped out of nowhere.

He quickly switched off his phone and put it in his pocket.

"Oh, it's nothing."

"That does not look like it was nothing."

"It's just a friend."

"Really?"

"Yes really"

His Sunbae started smiling and looking at him as if he knew something. The Sunbae was always known to be nosy, but he still is a good-hearted man. Dayeol coughed a bit to get out of the situation. His Sunbae was still smiling but he did not bother dayeol again.

On the other hand, Taehyun noticed that the people in the village were friendly. Once he stepped into the village, he had walked quite a bit around to find dayeol's house even if he did have the address and carrying suitcase and big bag on his other hand was not ideal. And one point he got a ride from a truck that exactly knew where dayeol's house was at making things quite easier for taehyun again.

The truck sure felt like a gift from heaven. Dayeol house was quite further away than he thought. If he had not gotten on the truck, he might have had to go to the hospital again. After within a two minutes taehyun arrived at his destination. Taehyun thanked the man who dropped him. He stared at the two-story building in front of him. It was pink. A pretty shade of pink color. The whole house was pink. There were two or three plants grown in front of the porch. He rang the bell just in case to see if dayeol's father was there, but no one came out of the house. He did remember dayeol saying that his dad was working at a fish farm. Honestly, he was relieved that he was not there in the house. Still, he felt the confidence he had keep dropping when he thought of dayeol's father. He was truly scared to meet dayeol's dad. He stared at the spiral staircase connected to the house. He thought he might as well take a seat. Taehyun sat at the end of the staircase. He kept his suitcase near him but for the bag he kept it on his lap. He could help but stare at the sky one more time. Suddenly he could not help but smile after thinking about dayeol. He just sure could not wait to see him again. He thought about what had happened two weeks ago.
