Collins

I open the door to the stillness of the cabin. Alex slowly enters and I wait for him to totally enter before closing and locking the door. When I turn, he's exploring further.

"Is this yours?" He asks turning to me.

"No." I say completely serious. "We're breaking and entering." I say. His face goes ghost pale and I crack a smile. "Kidding." His face gains some color as he nods his head turning back around. "It belonged to my parents," I explain, setting the keys down. "It was going to my sister, but I got it instead." I say looking up at him. He's staring at the multiple photos on the wall. He's frozen in front of one of my sisters and me.

"Who are they?" He breaths.

We're smiling in the picture, it was a few years after my parents died. Before the competition for Alpha and power started. "My sisters." I tell him.

I know he knows Ellie. I wonder if he'll open up to me about it. "Who's this?" He asks, point to Ellie.

"Ellie," I tell him, holding it out to see if he'll have a reaction.

"Ellie?" He asks, turning. I nod.

"Her real name is Elena. But our parents used to call her Ellie so." I nod. His face looses the color again. He called her Elena. He turns back to the picture. I come to stand next to him and look up at his face. I see guilt rather than shock, which is confuses me.

"You." He says pointing to me in the middle. I nod. "And Alice." He confirms.

"Addie." I correct. He snaps his head to me. "Her name is Adrina but we call her Addie." I say.

"Addie?" He asks.

"Yeah." I nod. He looks like he's seen a ghost as he turns and runs a hand through his hair. I raise an eyebrow. "Everything okay?" I ask. He looks at me.

"I have a lot to explain." He says and I nod. He gestures to the couch and we sit down. I sit on one side, and he sits on the other. He takes a deep breath before resting his elbows on his knees.

"Your sister, Elena. She was my dads best Hunter." He says looking up at me. "And, I was actually using her to hunt the Alpha Killer. Or, at least I asked her to. I had no idea it was you at the time!" He rushes the end. I nod.

"I heard her end of the conversation. I figured it was you." I say. I'm not sure if I was meant to be flattered, or creeped, or angry that he was going to use a hunter to look for me.

"And Alice-"

"Adrina." I correct. He nods.

"Adrina. Well, I mean we've known each other forever." He looks me in the eyes with guilt. "And a few days ago I asked her to be my second mate."

I want to punch him. I want to kill Adrina first. Then I'll punch him. But why do I care? I have Jack as my second mate. Why do I care so much?

I raise my eyebrows in response. "I didn't know you at the time Collins." He pleads. He puts his face in his hands. As angry as I was, I was more uncomfortable.

He's really beating himself up.

I slowly patted his back. Making sure that his shirt was in between our skin. He looks up at me and grabs my wrist, our skin still not in contact. I stand up at the action and so did he. He looks down at me, never taking his eyes away from mine. He slowly grabs the zipper to the hoodie and without looking away, unzips it. His hand remains on my wrist as we stare at each other and he unzips the hoodie.

His chiseled jaw and dark eyes memorize me. In this moment I want to run my hands through his hair which probably feels like silk. My wolf jumps inside of me. She's like hormones but worse. His lips look soft and all I want is to touch them with my own. He had a serious look on his face, but the moment the zipper hits the end his eyes turn black. His long black eyelashes made them look even more fierce.
