"First Squad Shooter: Jo Jang-su," Chun-ho said, beginning to assign roles to the second platoon. They stood in two groups and in those two groups, they stood in two rows. "Assistant Shooter: Sobong (Y/n)." Jang-su and (Y/n) exchanged a subtle high-five. "Second Squad Shooter: Kim Yu-jeong. Assistant Shooter: Wang Tae-man." Shock crossed several faces and Tae-man pointed to himself in surprise. So-yun and Jun-hi were absolutely dismayed that Tae-man of all people was an assistant shooter. "Search Team: Jo Yeong-shin, Kwon Il-ha. Sniper: Lee Na-ra. Observer: Do So-chul... After arriving in the operation area, the assault team will be on alert. During the movement, the two people in the search teams act as advance guards at the forefront.""Yes, Sir!" Platoon 2 affirmed. Chun-ho and Won-bin nodded at each other before stepping forward to give the two Squad Shooters two of the same device. Chun-ho then held up a third.
"This is a Cell detector," Chun-ho said.
"Cell detector?"
"What's that?"
"Is it detecting Cells?" Tae-man whispered. Yu-jeong closed her eyes patiently while So-yun smacked Tae-man's arm.
"Hey, it's called a Cell detector. What else could it be for?" So-yun scoffed.
"Is it a prototype?" Yeong-shin wondered.
"What's that?" Hui-rak asked.
"It's a product that hasn't been fully developed yet," Yeong-shin answered.
"That's right," Won-bin nodded. "Since it's not perfect yet, you should not rely too much on the Cell detector."
"What is the detection radius?" Yeong-shin asked.
"It's one kilometer in undeveloped land," Chun-ho replied. "In the case of the city center or town, the detection radius will be 500 meters to 700 meters. So... Always be alert."
"Yes, Sir!"
"That's it," Chun-ho said. He and Won-bin nodded before heading to the front of the vehicles to make sure everything was in order. Everyone else gathered together to get a look at the Cell detectors, which Jang-su and Yu-jeong powered on. The class oohed as a vague silhouette of the surrounding area appeared on the screens. Yu-jeong and Jang-su held up the devices for the people in the back who couldn't see.
"It looks like the higher-ups aren't just sitting around doing nothing after all," Bo-ra commented.
"Tell me about it. Why didn't they give this to us earlier?" Ha-na murmured.
"Class President, look," Tae-man whispered, taking the device from Yu-jeong. He stared down at the device. "Oh, what's this? Why can't I get any signal?" Yu-jeong sighed and took the Cell detector back. Disappointed looks were thrown Tae-man's way.
"Because there are no Cells!" the class exclaimed. Il-ha smacked Tae-man over the helmet.
"This idiot. Oh, gosh."
"Three minutes to go, 2nd Platoon! Get in the vehicles in squads. Implement!" Chun-ho ordered.
"Implement!" the platoon repeated, hastily heading over to the vehicles they were assigned to. Jang-su and (Y/n) and Tae-man and Yu-jeong opened the backs of their respective vehicles, allowing everyone else to get in.
"Have fun up front," (Y/n) said. Jang-su grinned briefly before jogging around the vehicle to sit up front with his group's driver, Chun-ho. Il-ha and Yeong-shin helped (Y/n) in last before Il-ha and (Y/n) closed the back and sat down again.
"(Y/n), how far is the drive?" Sun-yi asked. They all looked at the girl in question.
"Four hours by highway," (Y/n) answered. They all jerked a bit as they got moving. "And... probably closer to six if we mostly avoid main roads. Take a nap, everyone. I know hardly any of you got a wink of sleep last night."
