End of July 2023
Taylor's POV:
"Please. I've been on my knees. Change the prophecy. Don't want money. Just someone who wants my company. Let it once be me. Who do I have to speak to. About if they can redo, The prophecy?" I sing into the microphone closing my eyes as I sing out the last note, letting the silence fill the studio. I glance over and see my producer and friend Aaron ending the recording as he crosses his arms over his chest.
"You ok?" He says walking over to sit next to me on the bench.
"It's just been a lot these last few months." I say quietly not meeting his eyes.
Aaron and I have been friends for a the last few years, but have become close after we recorded Folklore and Evermore together. I think back to when we recorded Folklore LPSS together, and we were discussing my song Peace, and I think at that point I should have realized that Joe and I were not going to work out. It ended up being a very toxic ending with multiple times of us going on breaks, the last one being December 2022 through February 2023 when he came to the US for the Grammy's after party, only for us to end our relationship that same night.
"Yeah, but I am proud of how you are handling everything." Aaron says pulling me in for a quick hug.
Aaron was there the night Joe and I broke up and actually was one of the people who helped escort him out of the party after everything blew up. I knew by the end of December there was no saving our relationship, and I had no intention of ever getting back with Joe, but apparently he thought differently. I had found out he was sleeping with his costar behind my back, but Joe became furious when he found out I was casually seeing Matty Healy since January. Matty and I had been in a situationship since 2014 on and off when we weren't dating other people. Once Joe and I ended things I went back to what I knew, Matty. Which was an awful decision letting him back in my life, but I had felt alone and the person who I had planned to spend the rest of my life with was cheating on me. Now, we are a few months post breakup with Joe and ending my situation with Matty and now I have no life besides touring and pouring all of my feelings into a new album.
"Thanks Aaron. I think I am going to head back to my apartment, that song just brought up a lot of feelings that I think I would like to discuss with a bottle of wine." I say throwing my notebook in my canvas bag and slipping my shoes back on.
"Call me if you need to talk Tay. I'm here for you." He says before I walk out of the room towards the front of the building where my security team is waiting.
"Taylor, Keleigh Teller is at your apartment, would you like us to take you there?" Steve, my main security guard, says. I roll my eyes and nod walking towards the black SUV.
With all of my homes, I have a list of friends and family who are allowed to enter at all times whether or not I am home. I have found it makes it easier, especially when I was living abroad and a friend needed a place to stay while in the city. Keleigh is one that doesn't usually just come to my house without warning though, which is a little concerning but it could just be she was in the city for business and wanted to see me.
I climb in the backseat pulling out my phone to see a slew of messages from friends and family as well as being tagged in multiple things on twitter. I go to Keleigh's texts first since I know I am about to see her and see only two missed messages.
Keleigh: I have THINGS to say. Please call me.
Keleigh: Actually, screw it. I am on my way to your apartment. See you when you leave the studio.
I laugh reading her messages and just quickly glance at the others, seeing nothing of importance so I close my phone and lean my head against the seat. As we pull up to my apartment I see another text come in from Miles Teller.
