Training Camp 2023

Taylor's POV:

"Taylor? We have a delivery out front for you, are you ok if we bring it in?" Drew's voice says over the intercom of my house in LA. 

"Sure, thanks Drew." I respond with a frown on my face. A delivery? I didn't order anything recently, and no one really sends me anything, I am usually the one who sends random gifts to my friends. Speaking of random gifts, I need to send Paul's wife a congratulations gift as they just found out they are having another baby. Grabbing my to-do list from the kitchen table I quickly write that down as I hear the front door open. 

"Where would you like these?" I glance up and see Drew holding a large bouquet of flowers.

"Oh wow, um, right here is fine. Thank you." I say pointing to the empty counter space in front of me. The vase is a beautiful light purple filled with a dozen white roses. I am looking for the card when Drew hands it to me with an eyebrow raised.

"We checked the return address to ensure it wasn't one of your stalkers and it came back a college campus in Missouri? Under the name Jason Travis? I assume this is an expected gift since it came directly to your house." I let out a laugh when he says the obvious fake name Travis had given the floral shop and nod grabbing the card out of Drew's hand.

"Yes, thanks Drew." He nods and walks out of the house leaving me alone with the plain white envelope with a letter T on the front. I pull out the light pink card to see what Travis had said.

I can feel the blush come up over my face as I run my finger over the words written in front of me. 

Travis Kelce. A name that if you had asked me about a month ago, I probably couldn't have told you anything about him, but now? Now, he has been the first thing I think of when I wake up and the last thing before I go to bed. A little over two weeks ago, he called me out on his podcast for trying to give me his number on a friendship bracelet and today he is sending me flowers. After I was reached out to by multiple people (including The Tellers, my dancer Kam, my cousins, and even my own father) sending me the link to his podcast with his brother, I took a chance and got his number from Miles Teller. 

Somehow it's been two weeks and we have talked every single day since, and more recently we had started FaceTiming in the evenings after he was done with practice for the day. Just the other day when we were on FaceTime, Olivia had jumped up on the counter and pushed a vase filled with flowers off causing it to shatter all over the floor, and now he sent me a replacement vase? Who is this man? I quickly find my phone to send off a quick text to him even though I know he is at practice and won't see if for a few more hours.

Taylor: I just received the strangest gift. Flowers from a Jason Travis? Any idea who that could be from? 

Taylor: Thank you for them though, they are beautiful.

Glancing back up at the vase, I try to remember when the last time I received flowers from a man was. I know Matty was never the flower type and Joe thought flowers were a waste of money, so it's been over 6 years for certain. I walk down the hall into my bedroom and throw myself down on the bed staring up at the ceiling. In the two weeks that Travis and I have been talking and getting to know each other it keeps reminding me of high school, filled with butterflies and excitement over seeing his name pop up on my phone. I have kept Travis to myself and haven't told any of my friends or family that we have been in communication. Miles and Keleigh keep asking if I ever reached out to him after they sent over his number but I haven't responded to them either.
