Clay watched as the group managed to get the shark into the stretcher in the back of the van. He hated how similar this was to when george saved him.

The canvas tarp that they got under the shark, one exactly like the one that clay had to sit on when he got injured. They finally figured out what was wrong with the little animal, while it was being beached and pushed up onto the sand, it had gotten stuck in the coral and in return it scraped up its entire side.

The worst part about this whole situation was that no matter how hard they tried to help this shark, it was still too young to just let go once it healed. It would need to learn how to swim in the harsh currents, how to hunt and catch food without a mother to teach it. Thats where Blue High came into play.

"We good back there?" nick was the one driving now, george insisted that he was in the back with the shark because for some reason this one felt personal. He couldnt explain it, but for some reason it felt like he had met this shark before.

"Yeah." George responded, he stabilized himself with one had on the hanging stretcher while the other was against the wall of the truck.

Clay decided that he would be interested in staying in the back with everyone else. It was a little shocking when you found out how much room was in the van itself but on top of that the shark was tiny so there was more room.

nick tried to ignore the stranger in the room, it wasn't that he didnt like him but he just didnt know him. the red head knew that george was falling for him, he could see the way he looked at him and the way he talked about him, but there was something off.

The no cell phone, how skeptical he looked of the truck, his accent and traveling, it suggested that he was a merman. But there was no ring, no nothing which is what was shocking.

"so clay." nick began, there was nothing that he could help with considering that their only job was to keep the shark alive and comfortable until they made it back to blue high.

"yeah?" the blonde was still getting used to responding to his human name, but then again he had to play off as a human until callie found her necklace or he found his trident.

"Australia right?" nick knew the answer but he needed to know who this guy really was.

"yep." clay immediately caught onto what he was getting at and began to shut down slightly. he didnt like humans, even if these men were merman who walked like humans, they had been on land for too long.

"why dont you have a phone?" nick was asking question with answers he wasnt supposed to know. Clay caught onto that and realized that callie had probably said something to george and in return that got passed to nick.

in the truck there was karl, nick, and clay in the back along with a few other men but clay realized that all of them had that same ring on. It became clear where all the mermen of the kingdom had been going.

"i do." clay began, nick raising an eye brow because he was initially told otherwise. "i forgot it in the airport on my way here. Im sure callie told you i didnt have one because she didnt want you guys thinking i was ignoring you." clays explanation made perfect sense to everyone in the truck, but nick really didnt want to believe it.

clay had learned a lot about the human world while he was on land so far, callie had taught him as much as she could and was teaching him as the days went on.

"what part of Australia are you from?" nick added on, the people around him were starting to get the idea of what this was and werent exactly sure how to help or stop him.

"the far part." clay began, "what is this? an interrogation?" clay furrowed his eye brows, he hated that these half merman half humans were trying to out him to the world but half of him knew he couldnt get upset.
