If felt so weird, Nick had gone back to the sanctuary where all the guys were. He informed them about his plan, he and Karl were for sure going and a bunch of others decided they could as well.

Nick was the first one in the water, in that pool that led out to the ocean. He did not swim around, he just floated there as the others hesitated to get in the water.

Most of these guys hadn't been in the water since they left, and they said that they would rather die before they ever went back in. but here they were nothing the less.

"Come on." Nick waved in, Karl soon followed and after that was the others.

They traveled together, making sure that no one strayed away. It may have been muscle memory on how to swim but they had lost some of the strength that once made them the strong mermen that they were.

As soon as the kingdom came into view, they all froze as it was an awful feeling. It was clear that there were many more people than there used to be, seeing as there was construction on every edge to build more homes and more buildings for the people. It wasn't your average construction, because instead of building with wood and nails like the humans, the kingdom built with wrecked ships or other structures. Every boat or ship that was found, was brought to the kingdom as a new house for someone.

They were scavengers.

Callie found them at that edge, meeting them up there within seconds.

"Its not what it used to be." she was happy, oh god was she ecstatic and everyone saw it on her face. She had never known the kingdom to be this good, for it to be this peaceful.

"I can tell." nick hated this so much, every little thing he saw gave him flashbacks from when he was basically a slave.

No one even batted an eye when the group of mermen entered the kingdom, seeing as there were so many new people here anyway.

Though a few did look at nick. They looked at his hair, the way his muscles were built. And some of them recognized him. They knew him from before the kingdom went to shit.

he felt weird, being in this form again, seeing others, it was seriously bothering him.

they made it to the center of town, right where the front steps of the castle were. Nick looked up at the tall structure, inhaling as he realized how serious this could be. He recognized the walls, the colors of all the structures, everything was almost the exact same.

The group slowly broke apart, Karl stayed with Nick but otherwise everyone else was gone. The two lingered around the main streets, they were a bit more nervous about this whole situation.

There were a lot of people who had reasons to hate them. They were the first people to leave and start the revolution. The kingdom went to crap because of them. Because they had to have their freedom.

"Nick look-" karl pointed a bit, gesturing towards one of the streets where a familiar face was coming around the corner.

His tail was of green ombre, mixed with all the different shades. It shined under the light beams from the surface, as far as the surface was anyway.

His hair was blonde and dirty blonde, mixed with itself in the dreadlocks that were intertwined with shells and pearls. He looked stressed out with a few people following him around, it looked like they were bugging him about something.

Karl and Nick watched from afar, subtly hiding around a corner so they wouldn't be spotted. They really didn't want to talk to clay right now.

Clay knew they were there, he had heard they were coming ages before they even got here. He wasn't going to bother them, in fact he would rather not talk to them because of history.
