13. First Wave

Deathstroke walked on one of the tall buildings in Ninjago City, craving power. He signalled his fellow Co-workers to get in action.

This is going to be so much fun.

Kai walked into a room just to see Jay talking with someone on the phone. He seemed too happy as if Nya was on the other side of the line.

Looking at this, Kai thought back to when Nya died, Kai couldn't get over it at first, he was angry, at the universe, at himself. Even to the point when Wu came in and calmed him down, from then on it was easy. He was the type to hide his soft emotions.

When Kai approached Jay, the alarm ranged through the ship.

"South East of the Ninjago city is under attack! Deploy there immediately!"

Jay closed his phone call, surprised that Kai was there and ran to the deck to get his armour and deploy with his team.

Ninjas rode their elemental dragons and dropped down at the edge of the battle where the leader spots them.

"Well, well. What do we have here?"

Deathstroke turned to look at the ninjas, he was at the top of a fallen building. It was unclear what his motives were, but it was clear that he was wreaking havoc.

"Are you supposed to laugh or something, like any other bad guys?" Cole asked

"Not every villains laugh." Deathstroke responded bitterly as he turned to his men. "Get them! And bring me their masks!"

His men charged at the ninjas and ninjas used their powers and fighting skills to fight them off.

This was the second battle, Jay had fought with his team in a year, he did not realise how he missed this.

As the men charged at the ninjas, ninjas went on their usual fighting stance and fought. They were outnumbered, but they were able to deal with using skills and months of training compared to Deathstroke's men.

The ninjas soon found themselves split, with half on each side. Deathstroke, smiled as his plan was working. He sent more men towards the half of the ninja team, to finish him off while his partner dealt with the others. He summoned his telekinesis powers and tried to blast them at the ninjas when he was knocked by the ice.

Deathstroke stood up in fury as he saw the White ninja easily beating his men up and approaching him. He was confused. His partner was supposed to be there. Where was he? They would lose this battle.

He decided to improvise, sending more men on the way towards the ninjas while he retreated a bit, dodging each and every move by the androids.

For the ninjas, the battle was not hard but overwhelming. They were getting outnumbered and swarmed. It became even harder when they were split, with Kai, Zane, and Cole on one side and Lloyd and Jay on the other.

Knowing this situation, Jay used spiinjitsu several times, and it was successful for a short period of time, as they were immediately swarmed afterwards. Lloyd saw this and knew he had to improvise like they always did.

Within a second, Lloyd remembered the time he used the dragon to disperse the gang and quickly did so. He summoned his elemental dragon and let it roar as loud as possible.

Flying above, he saw the leader retreating but was soon interrupted by Jay getting surrounded, his spinjitsu having no effect.

Lloyd knew that his time was now and swooped down and knocked down many of the men and clearing a wide area, eventually connecting the two ninja groups together.

It was great for the ninjas, but for Deathstroke, he was angered, he felt he was betrayed, with anger he tried harder but the ninjas were getting stronger with each improvision.

It seemed like his partner left but in reality, he used this as a distraction to get into the high security in Borg's tower. It has a higher technology, as expected. So Nadakhan used his power to shapeshift into one of the guards and get down to the lower level. And just like in the erased timeline, the rest were the same, but more lasers. Of course, that was no problem for Nadkhan as he just floated through them, triggering each and every alarm along the way.

Soon, he broke into the room and saw the crystal. Nadakhan smiled as he floated, he grabbed the crystal and disappeared when the guards came in.

In the midst of the battle, it was clear that Deathstroke was losing, he could not do this without him. He felt anger, which forced him to make the hard choice, retreat.

Deathstroke tried to look for his partner but he realised that he was not there.

"Curse you Nadakhan!" Deathstroke shouted as he looked around him and his men, he could not do this without his powers.

'Wait... Nadakhan? He's...back? No, it can't be.' Jay froze as soon as he heard the name, it was the last thing he wanted to hear. He remembers wishing that the teapot would never be found, but looks like that wasn't intended to last forever.

Deathstroke panicked as he saw his men get taken out one by one. He had no choice, that coward.

He soon called for his mean to retreat, surprising many ninjas.

"I am confused, why did they just run away? They didn't even try."

"By my calculation, it appears that he was meant to be fighting with another person, named Nadakhan." Zane responded to Lloyd as he looked at the fleeing men. He also wondered why he and his team wasn't chasing them.

"Whatever the reason is, the next time they strike, we will be ready for them!" Kai triumphantly punches the air as Cole spots Jay sitting, cowering.

Strange, he wasn't like this since he moved on from Nya.

"You ok bud?"

No answer, the only thing he could hear was the heavy breathing of a ninja and his mutters that he could not understand.

Soon enough, the rest of the team went towards Jay.

"After analysing him, I fear he is having an anxiety attack. We should get him back to the bounty at once."

It took them a while for them to calm Jay and finally get him onto the bounty. The team had lots of question for him.
