18. Memories

All of the ninjas were busy planning to retake the city for good while taking a break from time to time. However, the three friends are busy talking to each other and the ninjas, especially Camilo.

Kai just looked over. He wasn't much of a planning person but more of an action person, which is why he can be ruthless at times. Kai was so focused on what he would do in a battle that he did not hear a person approach him.

"Hi, red ninja."

"It's, uh, Master of Fire." Kai responded sheepishly as he looked at the person speaking to him. It was Chloe.

"So your name is master of fire." Chloe unknowingly spoke to  Kai in a teasing manner.

"It's Kai, Kai Smith."

"Nice, I'm Chloe. How does your power work?"

Kai thought for a moment before answering the question she asked. He has a tendency to boast his powers when his friends aren't around, but when they are, they usually correct him, especially Zane.

"I can summon fire out of my hand." Kai responded by summoning the fire in his hand and throwing it out of the window.

Kai then stopped for a second to look at Chloe. Something about her seemed familiar to her as if she were someone close to him.

"So you're Jay's partner now, aren't you?"

"Yes, I am. He is the greatest person I have ever known."

"Yeah, he is..." Kai trailed off. "I am not saying I am suspicious but I have odd feelings about you."

Though Kai struggled to share his emotions, he also struggled to keep some things inside, such as his bad feelings towards other people.

"Well, you can say that."

"I mean..." Kai stuttered while he tried to amend what he had just said. "Not in a bad way. I keep getting some vibes from you that are familiar."

"I see." Chloe responded as Jay walked into a room where she and Kai were at.

"I can see you two hanging around each other nicely." Jay smiled as Kai hurried away from her.

"Anyways, how's the scan getting along?" Kai asked, wanting to switch the conversation.

"There's none. Also, Zane is calling you."

Without hesitation, Kai just sped out of the room.

"Now what?"

"Do you want to go look at my room?" Jay asked. It's not like every day he invites whoever into his room.

"Sure."

Chloe smiled as Jay led her to his room.

When they arrived, Jay ushered her into his room. It was a wonderful sight for Chloe to see. The room was full of blueprints, consoles and many techy things that she had not seen before.

"So this is a place where you hang out? I thought you didn't have time for any of this stuff, considering you are a ninja."

"Well, we have plenty, since the police force has improved in the past months." Jay was right when Ninjas began doing less work, the police had no choice but to train hard and prepare for harder battles. And with the new technology that has improved their taser into a Blaster stun.

"This place feels cosy, " she told Jay as she looked at each area carefully. But as she did that, tension began to rise, but in a positive way.

Jay felt some emotions rise as he looked at her.

"Why am I feeling way?"

"Hm?" Chloe turned to see Jay looking back at her with raised eyebrows.

"I don't know; this is the first time I feel close to you, " Jay said, beginning to walk towards her.

"I do feel the same...first time I am feeling it."

Not a second later, Jay was drawn towards Chloe. Jay opened his eyes wide. The emotion was too powerful for him, he never felt this since Nya's death. His heart belongs to Nya, not her's.

As for Chloe, well, her experience was different. While they kissed, her memory began flooding in, as if something had been unlocked. Her memory was now full of memories that were not hers, almost as if it were the memory of someone else, her past.

Of all the memories, that were flooded, there were some figures that stood out to her the most. The memories were vivid and clear. One figure was that of a red ninja, Kai. The memories played like a video player.

Every bit of emotion was inserted into her, from her birth to her death and her last one. She remembers clearly who she was. She was a former Master of water, brother of Kai and a lover to Jay and most importantly, she was Nya Smith.

What had felt like a day to Chloe was just a second to Jay, Hay was confused, he looked at Chloe, wondering why she was ... crying?

"Life is unfair I know, but please remember that I love you and will eternally." Chloe whispered gently, receiving a shock from Jay.

"Wait wh-" Jay stammered, he could not believe what he was hearing. The sentence that was uttered was the only phrase he could ever know. Unless it got sold to a romance Drama, nobody should have known about it.

"I remember... I remember everything Jay... No wonder why we fell for each other." Chloe looked Jay deep into his eyes.

"No, this isn't possible. How are you Nya, she died a year ago."

"Well, I met a man higher up, giving me a second chance in life. And here I am, with you again. When he said my memories would be unlocked, I never knew what it meant. And now I do."

Jay smiled a bit, he was glad that a higher being was gracious to give Nya a second chance, but has some doubts. Was this really Nya?

"How do I know if it's you?"

"If there is one thing Nya knows, is that she died to a Tiger Venom in the erased timeline. I don't know why I felt a familiar emotions to Wu, Kai or you."

"That proves it then."

Without thinking Jay hugged, which Chloe accepted. He never thought he would meet her again. But now he is.

"I wonder if Nadakhan knows Nya is dead. Or I am her." Chloe broke off after what feels like a long time.

"Well, at least we don't have to worry about him getting the infinite wishes then." Jay chuckled as he went forwards and took Chloe's hands.

"What happened after you die?"

"I guess a normal being gets to put in an afterlife, or in a place for peaceful eternity.  I don't know the exacts but ... At least I can have a second chance now."

Jay was speechless. He was glad that Nya was back, and in some way, he never expected his. Perhaps it was a gift?

Soon their moment was interrupted by an alarm and a speech by Kai on the speakerphone."

"Cone one lovebirds! Stop dwindling and get over here!" Kai spoke loudly before briefly disconnecting.

Both Chloe and Jay laughed, remembering the time when Kai interrupts their moments them for anything.
