16. Hostile Takeover

Chloe and her two friends walked down the road after a long morning, they were pretty much done with all their activities and had nothing to do. Sure they can try new stuff, but by this point, they felt they tried all the stuff they could.

"I am bored, I wish something could happen like right now." Camilo kicked small pebbles as he walked down the street with his friend.

"Hey, don't jinx yourself."

"You seriously believe that?" Camilo retorted at Matilda, now Seliel, as Seliel just looked at him.

"This world is full of stuff that I thought to be myths and legends, I thought it might be true."

As Camilo was about to respond, the ground began to tremble. Harder and harder each second, as if there is a stampede incoming.

"See?" Seliel looked at Camilo as she just shrugged. Meanwhile, Chloe, who was not listening to their conversation earlier, tried to keep her balance.

Soon, along with all the pedestrians, they heard a loud horn blaring as thousands of men began charging down the road.

"Good Morning Ninjago City! Surrender Ye Fithly Land Lovers!" Deathstroke shouted as he saw his men charging and pillaging the city.

"That is the worst Pirate accent I have ever heard." Nadakhan mumbled as he ordered his crew to charge forward as well.

Both of their men took some time getting used to each other as teamwork was crucial, but it does not seem like it was with the absence of the ninjas.

Deathstroke then used his telekinesis powers to lift the cars up and throw them away to make way for his men as well as the Nadakhan's Crew.

As their men charged their way into the city, multiple police began showing up and firing their tasers at them, they had gone through so much stuff that they knew whether something was a threat or not.

Despite, police efforts, they weren't enough and were being pushed back further and further, until they had to retreat.

"Where are the ninjas where we need them!" Seliel quickly responded while running down the road, dodging every object that was thrown aimlessly by Deathstroke.

"Perhaps busy saving the other side of the planet?" Chloe responded as she continued to run from the invading forces.

Sure ninjas were meant to save people but with only 6 of them, now 5, it was hard and nearly impossible for them to save every piece of the planet.

Meanwhile, Wu and Pixal were at their control centre inside their monastery. They recently have been alerted about an attack on Ninjago town Centre.

"Why does it have to happen when Ninjas are away."

"Perhaps they were waiting for the ninjas to go to proceed with their attacks" Wu responded to Pixal as she was busy alerting the Ninjas of the attack.

"We should probably get over there now, to deal with it." Pixal looked at the map and saw multiple alerts from the police in the centre of the city.

"Let's go then."

Wu and PIXAL hurried themselves towards the town square just to see everything being in total chaos. Buch of cars were overturned, buildings were on fire, and items were scattered all across the roads.

"This is too big for us to deal with." Pixal spoke as she looked over the chaos.

"The best we can do is to get people to safety." Wu firmly responded as he looked as well. It seemed as though many people had fled the scene, apart from a few.

Meanwhile, Chloe, Seliel and Camilo were running hastily as they had never seen this sheer amount of violence before in their life.

Soon, they ran far enough to bump into two figures, an old man and a tin can.

Wu turned around to see three young people who bumped into them.

"Sorry, we were just feeling from the scene." Camilo quickly said the sentence as he began to recover and stand up.

"I see. Well, I guess you should be going to your place now." Wu replied as he looked at the three teenagers.

"The thing is, our house is surrounded by them. And we cannot get back because it is too dangerous for us." Chloe spoke in a manner that resonated with Wu. There was something Cloe did or said that reminded Wu of something, but he could not quite put a finger on it.

"Well, you can stay at our base for a bit while everything gets sorted." Pixal spoke up, interrupting Wu in his trance.

"But who are you guys?"

"We work with the ninjas. Now come, before you get hurt."

"What really?" Seliel piped up, never in her life had she thought she be visiting a place where ninjas stay and do their stuffs.

"Wait what about the others?" Camilo spoke as he looked behind. Sure he can be careless at times, but he does have some empathy for people.

"They already fled, some we helped already and you were the only few that haven't." Pixal responded as she led them to their vehicle.

Soon, they drove off as Nadakhan and Deathstroke were finishing what they were doing.

"This seems too easy..." Nadakhan spoke. He was curious about why ninjas have not shown up at all, it felt as if they were doing something.

"Too easy! This was the perfect opportunity!" Deathstroke interrupted Nadakhan by exclaiming about their victory.

"Now what?"

"Now, we just wait for the ninjas to come here and we will capture them."

Nadakhan just sighed, he could not wait this long to achieve his revenge. Sure he wanted to rebuild Djinjago but that was not his main point.

"How are your powers going?"

"Great." Deathstroke meekly responded as he spoke with his commanders. Now that he managed to capture half of the city, the next step he wanted to do was to goat ninjas into coming here, capturing them, and in turn making people bow down to them.

Nadkhan looked over as his captain approached him.

"Nadakhan, looked like we got everything under control, when will we build Djinjago? As you promised?

"I have no idea, maybe it's time to improvise..." Nadkhan snarly responded as he looked at Deathstroke.

Deathstroke, denied his plans to do so but he will make sure it happens. Whatever it takes. Even if it means... taking over.
