Take In

Chapter 3:

Alex's P.O.V:

Once Otis and Devin left, I just sat there with Kitty in my lap while she slept. About a few minutes have passed and I'm starting to get ready to go to sleep. As I'm doing so I didn't realize that Kitty had woken up so when I felt her rub her head up against my arm I freaked out a little bit before realizing that it was Kitty.

"You scared me baby. Will you still be here when I wake up later?" I asked the cat. She just started to purr and get comfy on my 'bed' and fell asleep with me.

When I woke up later, I noticed that Kitty was still sleeping curled up, her head lying lazily on my arm since I have it where it has been laying out flat all night. When I tried to take my arm out from under her head one of her front paws came up and she laid it on my arm trying to tell me to leave it where it was or something, so that's what I did.

As the minutes passed the hotter it got. I moved my arm from under Kitty's head slowly, and carefully stood up, crouched down, picked up Kitty, and walked out onto the sidewalk. As I was walking I felt Kitty move in my arms, so I quickly looked down and saw her opening her eyes and looking at me.

"Well good morning baby." I cooed to Kitty. "How did you sleep, because I feel like I slept better than I have in a very long time, and it's all thanks to you." I said before poking her nose with my pointing finger.

I looked back up to see that I was about to pass an animal store and decided that I would buy Kitty some cat food to eat. I walked up to the door as soon as someone walked out, but they completely ignored me and kept walking. I grabbed the door handle and opened it, walking into the store.

"Good morning. Cute cat you got there." The man behind the counter said.

"Thanks. I just found her yesterday night., Well, more like she found me yesterday night. Do you think you could tell me where the canned cat food is? And good morning to you too." I said smiling kindly to the old man behind the checkout counter.

After he told me where to go, I went that way and started looking for some cat food that I could get her with the little money that I have. I found one that I could get two of and still have enough so that I would be able to get something for me to eat later since I let Kitty eat the last of my food. I grab two cans of the cat food and head to the counter that the kind man is at and pay for the cat food.

"Have a good day young lady! Hope to see you soon." He said as I headed to the door.

"Have a good day to you too. And I hope to see you again soon also!" I called out to him before leaving the store.

I stopped by the bench that was right in front of the store's window, and took out one of the cans of cat food that I got and opened it, then I set it down so that Kitty would be able to eat it. As Kitty was eating I took that time as a chance to look at my surroundings for a little bit and enjoy the warm weather hitting my skin. I took the second can out of the bag and put it in the back pocket of my shorts, then I picked up the leftover food that Kitty didn't eat and carefully wrapped the bag around the open can of food. As soon as I picked Kitty up and was about to walk away the man from the animal shop caught up to me and handed me a bag. I took the bag from him and asked him what it was.

"Some extra cat food for the little kitty, your cat, and a little bit of money so that you can buy yourself something to eat. I can tell that you're homeless. I just wanted to help you out a little bit. Take it. And if you'd like, I have an offer for you. If you come by tomorrow morning, I'll give you a job here at the animal store. But that is only one: if you want and two: if you show up. That's all you have to do for the job. You can also bring Kitty with you. I'll let you think it over. I hope to see you tomorrow morning Ms...?"
