Ezra's P.O.V:

Why haven't they come out of Nico's room yet? How long has it been since they began to have their talk? The longer they stay in that room, the more anxious I end up getting. When Alex had told me and the others that she was going to head upstairs to talk with Nico in private I didn't think much of it. But now that it has been a few hours, I can't help but feel nervous. I can't keep myself from thinking, "What are they talking about?".

"Ezra, you need to calm down. They will come back down when they are finished with their conversation. So come sit down and stop stressing over it." Otis said to me as he placed his hand on my shoulder, attempting to make me sit down on the couch.

"How can you tell me to calm down? How can you even expect me to be able to calm down in a situation like this? What is it that they have to be talking about for such a long time!" I questioned as I felt myself become even more frustrated. Allowing him to push me down onto the couch.

The longer that time passes while Nico and Alex are upstairs talking, the more my anxiety grows. I don't know why I am feeling this way, but I know that I don't like it. This thing that I am feeling... It is more than just being anxious.

What is this feeling? Better yet, why am I experiencing it?

After a couple of more minutes that felt like several hours, I heard two pairs of footsteps coming down the stairs. As soon as I saw Alex and Nico walk back into the livingroom where we were all sitting I made an attempt to stand up from where I was on the couch, but Otis held me down preventing me from doing so. While I was struggling with Otis to let go of me, I hadn't noticed that the both of them sat down on the couch across from us. When I had finally stopped struggling to get out of Otis's grasp, I looked up to see Alex looking at me.

"Are you two done, or do we need to leave so that the two of you can have some private time together?" Alex said in a teasing tone, trying not to laugh.

"No. Now, why don't the two of you explain to us what you needed to talk about in private for so long that you couldn't share with the rest of us." I stated, slightly irritated that she wanted to talk to Nico about something instead of me.

"Not now. I don't think that telling you guys about it now would be a good idea. Besides, I'm still trying to wrap my head around everything I just learned myself." Nico spoke.

"Oh really? And why is that? Please, enlighten us." I said sarcastically.

"Ezra, please. Just give it a few days, and I promise to tell you everything to the best of my abilities as I did with Nico." Alex interrupted just as Nico was about to say something else on the topic. I sat there and thought about it. After a couple of minutes of me just sitting there looking at them without saying anything, I decided to give in.

"Fine. But you have to tell us soon. I don't like having to wait." I huffed out, still slightly irritated.

"Okay, now that all of that is done and dealt with. I have a question. Those two men that you guys were fighting, they were from the Black Widows, weren't they?" Otis asked, directing his attention onto Mark and Jackson.

"What are you talking about, Otis? Why would the Black Widows be here?" I asked him confused as to why he was bringing that messed up and deranged group into this situation.

"What? You didn't see the black widow spider on the bald guy's neck? That is the symbol that represents them." Otis said.

"You know what? Now that I take the time to think about it, I do remember seeing something like that. It caught me off guard, and because of that the bastard managed to throw me into a wall." I mumbled as I went back and thought about what Otis had said.

"Do either one of you know why they were there? What they might have been after or looking for?" Otis asked Mark and Jackoson. Before they could answer, Alex spoke up.

"They were there because of me." Alex spoke, catching everyone off guard.

"What do you mean they were there because of you? What did they want?" I questioned her, unable to comprehend what she was talking about.

"They were hired to kidnap her by another vampire. When we had asked them by whom, they said that if they gave us the client's name it would be breaking client confidentiality or whatever." Mark said.

"Okay, but why did they want Alex? She has got nothing to do with the BlackWidows." I asked.

"That is what me and Alex were talking about." Nico told me.

"Great. So now what I am hearing is that we will not be able to know what the hell is going on for another few days? Fan- fucking- tastic." I grumbled out sarcastically while rolling my eyes.

"No. If you wait until tomorrow I will tell the rest of you guys what happened, okay? So how about we all call it a night and go to bed? I bet that most of you are feeling like it is way past your bed times." Alex stated, getting up from where she was sitting and heading for the front door.

"Where are you going? Don't even think about leaving here at this time of night just to head back to the place you were almost abducted from." I grumbled as I got up myself and headed towards her.

"Where do you expect me to sleep then?" Alex asked me as I gently grabbed her by the wrist.

"You are coming with me to my room. You have slept in there once before, so what if the problem with sleeping there again tonight? Besides, Kitty misses you and she is in my room." I told her as I began to head up the stairs and to my bedroom for the night.

"Really? Kitty is still here?" Alex exclaimed in excitement, breaking out of my grasp and rushing to my room so that she could see her cat.

"Yes she is still here. I was taking care of her while you were away. She is a very adorable kitten. How did you find her?" I asked, following Alex into my room and sitting down on the foot of my bed.

"I didn't find her. She found me. It was that same day I ran into Nico and the others in the street. When I had gotten home, I heard some strange noises and eventually Kitty came out. She was shy at first, so I held out some food to her and she slowly got closer to me. After she came to realize that I wasn't going to hurt her she warmed up to me and became very clingy and cuddly." Alex explained. Listening and watching Alex talk about things that she likes and enjoys makes me feel like smiling and laugh along with her.

"Well, both you and Kitty will always have a place here. You are welcome to stay and live with us if you want to. Besides, you shouldn't have to be living out on the streets alone for something that you didn't even do." I told Alex, watching her closely as she thought about the offer I just presented to her.

"Are you sure? Wouldn't I just be getting in the way of you and the others by staying here? I really don't want to come off as "one of those girls" but it is a genuine question." Alex asked, worried.

"You should know that I don't mind because I am the one who had offered in the first place, and I also know for a fact that the other boys won't mind either. They have been begging me ever since they first met you, to see if you wanted to stay here with the rest of us. Kitty as well. You wouldn't be getting in the way of anyone here, okay? And with the Black Widows going after you, you should stay somewhere safe. So what do you say?" I asked her.

"Can I sleep on it and tell everyone in the morning?" She nervously asked.

"Of course. Take your time." I replied.

"What time even is it right now? I'm beginning to get hungry. And I think that Kitty is as well." Alex wondered out loud before grabbing her phone and checking the time.

After she saw the time on her phone Alex suddenly stood up with her cat in her arms before she began to head towards the bedroom door. Before I could even ask her where she was headed I heard her mumble something about going to the kitchen to get something for her and Kitty to eat.
