The Newspaper
Monday of that week at exactly 12:00 PM, Harry Potter found himself gaping at the front page of The Daily Prophet. Right smack in the center, under their most recent headline, was a picture of Harry and Malfoy hugging.
Harry blinked, trying to hide the hysterical and desperate laugh bubbling up inside of him. Seriously? After all of these years, the first time they talk about him, they choose this? His life was a fucking joke.
The headline taunted him in big, bold, italic letters: The Saviour and The Saved..Is it possible to form a relationship after war?
He threw the table down onto the coffee table, rubbing at his eyes. This had to be a dream. Please let it be a dream, he repeated to himself, almost as though it would actually change anything.
Suddenly, he heard rapid knocking at his door. He waited with bated breath to see if they would go away—after all, he barely got any visitors. They did not. Shoulders slumped and a sour expression on his face, he dragged his feet toward the entryway.
Gray eyes stared back at him, unnervingly beautiful. "He saw the notice in the paper."
"Huh?" He expressed, dumbly. He hadn't seen Malfoy since their meeting, where The Daily Prophet had captured a picture of them. In reality, they had been meeting in order to put the past in the past, as Harry's therapist had suggested. "Who?"
"My father. He's furious, Potter." He said.
"Well then why did you let him see the paper?"
"What was I suppose to do?" He glared. "Eat it?"
Harry blinked for the thousandth time. "Not what I meant and you know that." He sighed, finally letting the reality of the situation hit him.
"What are we going to do?"
Malfoy could not have chosen better words, as an idea began to form in Harry's brain. He was tired of the prophet always invading his daily life—so if content was what they wanted, it was what they would get. "We are going to give them what they want."
The blonde gulped. "You mean..."
"Yes," He grinned devilishly, "Looks like you and I are going on a date, Draco!"
