Blue

Malfoy stepped into the train, his perfect demeanor replaced with an air of confidence and somehow, in the same breath, humility. He ran a hand through his messy, sky-blue hair, his tattooed arm exposed as he sighed to himself in the empty train car.

From the window, Harry observed him. This wasn't the Malfoy he had known. No, this wasn't a Malfoy...this was..could this be..Draco? Just purely, all Draco? He couldn't help but notice the array of Narcissus flowers covering up the dark mark on his left arm, nor could he keep his eyes away from the way that his muscles looked.

He was about to knock on the compartment door when it suddenly swung open. "It's alright to knock, Potter, I don't bite." For the first time ever, Harry found himself unable to form words as he let himself wander into the car and sit across from his former enemy.

"Malfoy." He began, for no other words he could think of.

"It's Black now."

"Black?" Harry raised an eyebrow. "Your mom's maiden name, right?"

Draco felt himself smirk, a teasing tone falling into his words. "I didn't know you paid that much attention to me." Harry shrugged. "My mother wanted to get divorced ages go but..my father was a traditional man, as you know."

"That explains your appearance..dabbling in teen rebellion?"

Draco laughed loudly, snorting. "Just seeing what it would've been like if I hadn't been forced to create a character to be."

The raven-haired boy's heart twinged at the admission. He frowned slightly, "I'm glad you can do that now."

"Thanks to you."

"No," Harry began, awkwardly, "don't thank me. I just did what was right. You saved me that night that you said you didn't know me."

Malfoy—Black shrugged. "I guess we're even then," he hesitated, "what do you say to starting this new year with a clean slate? You never got to know the real me..maybe we could..I don't know," he blew a breath out.

"Be friends?" Harry grinned. "I would love that."
