Language Barrier

You tell me when you squeeze my hand eight times

***

You tell me when you kiss me. When you really kiss me.

You tell me when remember the smallest details from my longest rambles (which is most of my rambles to be frank).

You tell me when you look into my eyes.

You tell me everyday, but somehow I always forget.

I tell you when I say it.

I

Love

You

I tell you when I trace the words onto your skin.

I tell you when I learn about your favorite things just to impress you.

I tell you when I ask about your day, and when I try to make it better.

I tell you everyday, but somehow you always question it.

We're both screaming at each other in a language the other doesn't speak

Maybe one day I'll learn to hear what you mean, or maybe one day you'll learn to believe what I say.

Or maybe this is just the way it goes until it fizzles out...

Or maybe the whole point is to learn your own language, maybe that's all love is.

You either get past the barrier or you don't.

But I would learn how to say I love you in every language of the world to make sure we make it together after all.
