"They can't shut us down!"

"What are we going to do?!"

As she heard the loud sobs and cries of her team, her heart sank. She felt overwhelmed with emotions and tried to find the right words to console them. "Please, everyone, try to stay calm. I understand this situation is upsetting, and I will speak with the principal about it. We can work through this together."

She quickly changed from her swimwear and raced to the principal's office. She slammed her fist against the door and heard a faint "come in." She slammed the door open and made the principal jump in his seat.

When she entered the room, the man behind the desk greeted her with a smirk. "Ah, Miss Kyōtani, I take it you're here about the recent notice I had delivered?" he said, his tone dripping with condescension.

But she was not in the mood for his attitude. Without a word, she marched towards his desk and slammed her fist down, causing him to let out a small shriek. It was clear that she was not going to back down easily.

Her voice was filled with rage as she spoke through gritted teeth, "You're damn right!" Her body language was tense, and her eyes flashed with anger. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. "What the hell is your reason for even shutting us down? We've worked tirelessly to build this team, and now you want to throw it all away? Explain yourself!"

"I'm sorry, Miss Kyōtani, but your girls' swim team isn't progressing significantly. I'm afraid we need to allocate more funds to the boy's volleyball team. As you know, Tōru Oikawa is the star player of our school, and your team is affecting our budget."

Her eyes narrowed, and she let out a growl. "I don't even think that our team is an issue with you," she said, her tone seething with anger. "It's the fact that our team is only women. You may not realize it, but I've been watching you around this school. The way you behave and act is unacceptable. Your actions suggest that you hold sexist views, and I won't stand for it!"

He stood up from his chair, crossed his arms over his chest, and looked down at her, trying to intimidate her. "Be careful with what you say, Miss Kyōtani. You don't want to get expelled from this school. It would tarnish your permanent record, you know."

Standing firm, her voice filled with defiance, she addressed her adversary. "I'm not intimidated by your threats, you money-hungry bastard," she growled. "You seem to have forgotten that I deliberately chose this school over the prestigious Shiratorizawa. I was the one who tirelessly worked to fill those trophy cases when your "star player," Oikawa, was out with a severe injury. So, don't you dare underestimate my contributions to this school!"

He sat in silence, leaning back in his chair with an exasperated sigh. "Okay, things got a little out of hand here. Let's not attack each other. If your team can prove that they have what it takes to stay, then they can keep their place. Now, it's time for everyone to go home. I still have work to do."

As she stormed outside, the door slammed shut behind her. Her heart was pounding in her chest, her mind racing with thoughts. She looked up and saw her brother, Kentarō, waiting for her by the gate. He was scrolling through his phone, seemingly lost in thought.

Kentarō's team captain stood before him and scolded him for his behavior, making him quite aggressive. But as he glanced to the side, he saw his sister walking towards him. Her eyes were red and puffy, and tears streamed down her face. She seemed to be on the verge of a complete breakdown.

As Kentarō looked at her, his eyes widened, and he put his phone away. He quickly raced towards her and called out her name. She looked up and stood still, trying to wipe away the tears streaming down her face.

"Hey! I wasn't done talking with you, Mad Dog!" Oikawa growled as he went to chase after him. But he stopped when he saw him catch his sister as she collapsed into his arms. Kentarō's voice was barely audible as he leaned in towards his sister, a look of concern etched on his face. He gently touched her back and rubbed it in a circular motion, hoping to alleviate her distress.

"Are you okay?" he asked softly, his eyes searching hers for any sign of what was troubling her. "What's got you down?"

"The principal is trying to shut the swim team down." She sobbed, clinging to his shirt. "He said the school needs more funding for your volleyball team."

"We already have enough funding for the team, though." Oikawa chimed in, walking up behind them. "Why would he do that?"

Kentarō knew what that face was, and he grabbed her before she could lunge at him. "Y/n, calm down. We both know it's not his fault. It's the principal's."

The young woman's voice was tinged with exhaustion as she spoke softly, "I want to go home." Her body was tense and rigid, but she visibly relaxed as she leaned into her twin's broad shoulders. Without a word, he nodded in understanding and swiftly lifted her onto his back. He glanced at Oikawa before walking towards their home with his sister safely on his back.

He looked at her reassuringly as she trembled and said, "Do not worry. They cannot shut you down. You have worked hard to earn the respect of your team and have proven yourself to be a trustworthy captain." He touched her shoulder and continued, "It's natural to feel anxious about the situation, but know you are not alone. We will face this together and become stronger on the other side."

Despite never revealing his caring side in front of his team members, he displayed a remarkable shift in his behavior when he discovered that his sister was hurt and upset. He transformed into a supportive and protective brother in a heartbeat, showering her with love and attention. It was a touching display of sibling affection that left a lasting impression on those who witnessed it.

"I'm really sorry for crying," she said, her voice thick with emotion as she sniffled and wiped her eyes. "I just couldn't help it. This situation is really difficult for me right now, and my emotions are everywhere. It probably seems like I'm a big baby, but I feel overwhelmed and don't know what to do."

"I understand, Y/n." He replied. He then turned into their front yard and closed the gate with his foot as he walked along the path. He struggled to open the front door, and their Dobermann, Fang, ran up to them with his tail wagging.

As soon as Y/n caught sight of their beloved dog, she quickly made her way off her brother's back and rushed over to him. With a look of pure joy, she began to shower Fang with love, affectionately baby-talking to him as she scratched him behind his ears. Her touch was gentle, and it was evident that she had a deep connection with the furry creature. Fang seemed to enjoy the attention, wagging his tail happily as Y/n lavished him with love.

Their mother walked into the room with a smile. "Hello, my dears." She greeted them, and she then turned to her son. "Kentarō darling, you have a friend on the phone."

Kentarō turned around to look at Y/n with a hint of concern before slowly making his way to the kitchen. Y/n's mother noticed her daughter's red, puffy eyes and worriedly frowned. She walked over to Y/n, gently placing a hand on her shoulder, and asked, "Is everything alright, Y/n? It seems like you've had a tough day."

After a brief moment of silence, she let out a forced chuckle and slowly rose to her feet. "Well, I suppose you could say that," she said, her voice trailing slightly. With a sigh, she brushed her hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear before turning to face the door. "I think I'm going to go take a bath," she said, her eyes flickering towards the stairs.

"Of course, I'll call you when dinner is ready," her mother reassured her daughter with a warm smile. She turned around and walked back into the kitchen, where the delicious aroma of the cooked food filled the air.
