Chapter 6

"Hey babe", Luke kisses my cheek before taking a sit beside me at the lunch table.

He shows a small smile to Savannah and Natalie.

"What's Up? You don't usually sit with me at lunch" I ask.

Luke takes a deep breath, "I was wondering if I could meet your parents tonight".

I sigh, "I don't think so".

"Why not Kassy? You told me to wait, and I have been very patient but it has been two weeks. Why don't you want me to meet your parents?".

I sit silent for a moment, playing with my food.

"Are you scared to tell them because we can tell them together?".

"No that isn't it".

"Do your parents not want you to have a boyfriend?".

"No Luke".

"Then what is it?".

I look up to Natalie and Savannah. They sit in silence as Luke and I argue.

"Why are you keeping me from your parents? Are you embarrassed of me?".

"No Luke, and I-".

"Perfect so I will come over tonight for dinner".

Before I can make an accuse of why Luke cannot come over, he quickly kisses my forehead and walks away to sit with his friends. My head sinks into my hands.

"Why don't you want your parents to meet Luke?", Savannah asks.

"Are you seriously asking that question? You know how strict my parents are especially when it comes to boys. They are going to hate him as soon as he walks through the door. It is his entire appearance, the earrings, lip ring, nose ring". A deep sigh escapes my lips.

"Are you going to warn Luke? Maybe he can take out the piercings for the night".

"There is no use.. They will find out eventually. Might as show them the real Luke Brooks".

I called my mother to tell her I am bringing a friend home after school, and they are staying for dinner. I think I am more nervous than Luke.

We pull up to my house and I can tell Luke feels a little nervous. "What's wrong?", I ask.

Luke takes a deep breath, "I have never done this before. Meeting my girlfriends parents. I am not the best at first impressions".

"Babe, don't worry. You will be fine lets go". I grab Luke's hand and we walk over to my front door. I unlock the door, "Mum I am home!" I call out. My mother rushes over to the front door.

"Hey darling".

"Mom I will like you to meet Luke. My boyfriend". My mother stares at me puzzled, as her eyes widen.

"Hi, it is nice to meet you". She doesn't seem too friendly with her approach. It doesn't seem like she is very impressed.

"Daniel! Come downstairs, Kassandra is home", my mother calls out to my father.

I could tell Luke began to tense up, as he deeply gulps.

"Well come on in", my mother gestures us over to the dinning room.

We walk over to our dinning room, where we stand around for a moment, waiting for my father. It is very awkward. Plus it feels like something is going on, my mother is acting very strange.

My father enters the room and Luke clears his throat.

"Dad I will let you to meet Luke".

"Hello Sir it is nice to meet you".
