Luke's POV
I was walking home from school when I got distracted by a familiar car waiting at the end of the street. The closer I get the more I regret walking up to it. It is Kassy's fathers car. I gulp deeply wondering if I should walk over to say hello or pretend that I never saw him, and turn around. I hesitated at first but I walk over to his car. I need to get her dad to like me. I have never cared about my girlfriends parents likely me. To tell the truth I have never even met my any of my girlfriends parents. Now that I think about it, Kassy is my first real girlfriend. Kassy is different. I find her worth fighting for, and that I am always fighting for her.
I take a deep breath and walk over to the passenger window. He rolls the window down as he notices me make my way closer to the car. I can feel my heart beating in my chest, faster and faster with every step I take.
"Hello Mr. Mitchell, looking for Kassy", I politely say.
A mysterious grin grows on her fathers face. "Oh Luke, just the person I was looking for".
I stare at him puzzled. "Why were you looking for me?", I reply confused.
"Why don't you get in the car, and we can have a little chat".
My heart stops in my chest. "A chat. About what?", I nervously spoke.
"Get in, we will discuss in the car".
"I should be getting home, my mom is waiting for me".
"Don't worry I will drive you home, we can discuss our little situation the drive to your house. It will only take a few minutes".
I gulp as I lift my hand to the car door to open it. I open the car door and sit inside.
The car ride is silent however all I can hear is the sound of my heart racing in my chest".
"So, how is that weather we are having", I quietly speak trying to make conversation. For someone who wanted to talk he isn't doing much talking. The suspense is killing me inside.
"I am not here to discuss the weather with you because I do not give a rats ass. I am here to tell you to stay away from my daughter. You are no good. Ever since you have meet my daughter her life has been going downhill. Her grades have been dropping, she is talking about getting a tattoo. She would rather spend time with you than her own family. No good has come from you seeing her".
I take a deep breath, "You don't know anything about me".
"Oh but I do Luke. I know the type of the guy you are. Most popular guy at school, that all the girls want. You are a player and get with as many girls as you can, because you can get pretty much any girl you want. You play with their emotions by telling them how you only care about them and make them feel all special. Once you get what you wanted you leave them and never speak to them again".
"I am nothing like that".
"Just stay away from my daughter".
"No", I bark back.
"Stay away from daughter. We all know I am the one who is going to have to help heal her broken heart in the end. So you better stop playing fucking games and end things with her now. For your own good".
He slows down as he pulls up to my house. He stops the car and puts in into park.
"If you were smart you wouldn't tell Kassandra about our little talk. Now get out of my car".
I wish I could throw a fist at him but I can't.
"You can't tell me what to do", I mumble under my breath.
"Get out of my car and out of my daughter life if you know what is good for you".
He unlocks the door and I get out slamming his car door shut.
He quickly drives away leaving me speechless and angry.
"Fuck", I scream kicking a near by rock into the road.
He can't tell break us apart. I am not just going to leave Kassy for no reason. What am I going to do?!
Kassandra's POV
Luke has been ignoring all my text messages and phone calls for the pass few days, and at school he walks the other way if he sees me. I don't know what is going on. I dial Luke's number on my phone, hoping he will answer.
"Hello", Luke quietly spoke.
"What has been with you lately? Why have you been ignoring me?".
Luke is silent on the end of the phone. The quieter he is the more I begin to worry.
"K-Kassy", his voice broke. He sounded very upset.
"I can't talk at the moment, This isn't a good time".
"Please Luke, talk to me!".
"I-I can't do this anymore".
"What do you mean?", I reply confused. What is Luke trying to say.
"I-I don't want to be with you anymore. I want to break up".
My heart stops as I try to take in Luke's words. Luke is breaking up with me.. My mind remains jumbled as I am unable to speak.
"Kassy", I hear Luke murmur.
Without saying a word I hang up and toss my phone across my room. It hits the wall and tumbles on to the floor.
My eyes close in a wince as I try to hold back the tears that are filled up in my eyes. My head sinks into my hands, as I begin to sob. We were going so good why would Luke break up with me.
I hear foot steps coming closer towards my door. My father opens my door and enters my room. "Kassy why are you crying?", he asks concernedly.
"Luke broke up with me", I manage to say between breaths.
My father doesn't say a word, and in a matter of fact didn't look a bit surprised. I was waiting to hear a 'I told you so'.
I look up to father, "Did you say something to him?", I question.
My father remains silent. I wait for his lips to move but they don't, he remains silent.
"Dad! Answer me!".
My father deeply sighs, "He isn't good for you. I just want to protect you!".
I stand up, "You don't know anything about me! So stop pretending you know what is best for me! You expect me to be this perfect daughter! But in reality, I am not who you think I am! I can't believe you!", I shout at my father before running out of my room.
I run down my stairs and out the front door. I slam the door behind me and run. I run and run and I don't stop. Not knowing where I am going to end up.
