Chapter 23

I stand there frozen not know what to do. I have to stop him! He can't die! I quickly grab my keys and run to my car. Before starting the engine I quickly call Beau.

I sit shaking in my seat waiting for him to answer.

"Yalla".

"Beau!", I scream.

"What's wrong?", Beau notices my panicked tone.

"Where are you?".

"At my Nonna's house".

"Is Luke with you?!".

"No he is home alone, why is everything okay?".

"No it isn't! Beau, Luke is planning to kill himself!".

The phone is silent on the other end.

"Beau..? Beau are you still there?".

"I-I", he stutters.

"Call the ambulance right now!", his voice shakes in a panic.

"I will be there as fast as I can", he quickly demands before hanging up.

I quickly call the ambulance and send them to Luke's house hoping it isn't late. I start my car, step on the gas and drive over to Luke's house.

Please Luke.. Please, don't do what I think you are. Please.

Please be okay. Please.

Beau's POV

I quickly call Luke's phone, the moment I get off the phone with Kassy.

It can't be true. Luke would not do that. Luke wouldn't do that.

No answer. I redial his number over and over again hoping to receive an answer from him.

No answer.

I clasp to my knees, and can't hold it in any longer. I feel the warm tears that have been burning in my eyes begin to stream down my face.

I dial's Luke's number once more hoping he will answer.

Voicemail.

"Luke!", I shout.

"Please just tell me you are unable to come to the phone right now or you are sleeping! Please tell me you aren't doing anything stupid and you are okay. Please Luke", I pause for a moment trying to hold back my sob. I gulp holding back the tears.

"Luke. Please. I love you. I am your brother. You can't leave me. You can't do this! You can't do this? Why!? Luke so many people love and care about you. Why are you doing this".

"Do if for me. Do it for mum and Jai.

Do it for Kassy. Luke if you really love Kassy you won't do this. You won't leave her for good. You won't leave her by herself to-".. I choke on my sob. I bite my lip and try to calm myself down but it is no use.

"Luke please. Don't do it".

"Answer me please. Luke", I shout crying into the phone.

Kassy's POV

I park my car on the street and quickly run to Luke's front door. Knowing the door is probably locked I put my hand under the front door mat knowing they keep a stare underneath. I quickly open the door, my hand shaking. I cannot even think right now. My mind is so jumbled. I run into the house. "Luke!", I call out. "Luke! Where are you?!". I run into his room. He isn't there.

"Luke answer me!", I scream on the top of my lungs. I can feel the tears forming in my eyes.

I begin to check every room looking for Luke. The last room is the bathroom. The door is locked. My heart begins to race. I pound on the door, but it is no use. Before I know it I hear an ambulance and they come running through the door. "Please! My boyfriend locked himself in the bathroom! Please open the door", I manage to say. The push me aside and knock the door down.

My heart stops when I see Luke lying in the bathroom floor. My mind goes blank and my mouth becomes dry. I am unable to speak. Everything feels like a blur. My hands fly up to my mouth, Luke....

They quickly rush Luke into an ambulance and ask if I want to come along. I nod slightly, still shocked and unable to speak.

"You said you are his girlfriend?".

I sit there staring at Luke's pale lips and cold body.

"You said you are his girlfriend?", they repeat the question.

I look up and bite my lip. "It is a long story..".

I take his hand and hold it tightly.

"Luke. Please. Wake up. Please", I beg.

"Luke. Why. Why would you do this. Please wake up!".
