Ian and Anthony just completed the last recording of the first week that Anthony has been back at Smosh. They had a lot to do for the last couple of weeks and they were both really glad how everything played out well. Of course, they were both stoked to get back their company and also their friendship. But it took them just a few days until especially Anthony got a little scared of the reactions. Not the reactions from "the public". It was mostly the reactions from the cast and crew he was a little insecure about. Everyone was just as happy as them when they announced it, but there were a lot of questions and especially the people Anthony didn't already know made him a bit anxious sometimes.

Luckily, no one had a chance to hold onto their restraint, because Anthony was just really good at talking. At least he was able to be that for the last month or something. He liked talking. It was his job. But the amount of new people he got to know while working almost constantly made it pretty hard to be all that bubbly. Even Ian was kind of surprised by his friend. He didn't remember him as that "talky" and he now wasn't sure, if it was just to make a good impression or if he just changed in that "category" through all these years.

"Wanna go get something to drink today?", Ian suggested as they were leaving the set. Anthony wasn't sure if he just meant him or all of the cast leaving with them. "Just you", Ian specified after watching his friend looking around a little confused. Everyone else got that before and just laughed with Anthony now. "I guess I'm in then", he finally answered. "Oh, and with us you would've said no?", Courtney joked and just made everyone laugh again before they said their goodbyes and went to grab their stuff.

"Where'd you wanna go?", Anthony asked, kind of hoping Ian would say some quiet place. He just recognized the headache he had. "I thought we could just go to my place? Or yours? Oh, or... you know what? Just give me a minute", Ian counted his ideas before running off without fully explaining. Anthony now stood in Ian's office alone and confused. What was his plan? And how could he still have all this energy? Oh, maybe he just felt at home in this building and didn't have to constantly make good first or second impressions. Anthony caught himself on that thought and sighed. He didn't want to "play a role" for everyone. He didn't even know why he was doing it. But maybe it would just take some time to get used to all this and his mask would disappear automatically. That's what it was like most of the time in his life. With the slight difference that coming back to Smosh was kind of like coming home at the same time. Like coming home after your whole family moved to a new place and everyone had new partners in their lives. "Okay, stop overthinking", he finally told himself silently.

Just then, as if he had called him, Ian was back, holding a six-pack of some beer in one and the whole tray of snacks from the kitchen in the other hand. "You wanna drink in your office after work? You really live here, don't you?", Anthony said jokingly. "I don't. But I still know the best spots to this building", Ian answered and just made him hold the beer while picking up his jacket and then leading the way out of his office. Anthony just followed him carrying the beer. Wherever they would go, it could only be better than a loud bar full of people. And it would be full in most bars today because it was Friday.

"Okay, I didn't want to ask, but you make me carry a bunch of beer bottles up a ladder. Where are we going?", Anthony finally had to ask. But by the time he got up the ladder, he already saw Ian holding a door to the roof open. He was pretty sure this roof wasn't made for sitting around sipping on a beer, but he didn't say anything and just went outside with him. "You done this before?", he asked when they sat down on the ground near the edge, but not too close. "Yeah... but never with someone else actually", Ian admitted and earned a look from Anthony that almost seemed a little concerned. "It's just the quietest place around", he explained, but Anthony couldn't help but think that this was a place you would go to when you feel lonely.

They sat in silence for a while just sipping on their bottles every now and then. It felt good to be able to do that and not feel awkward. It was a comfortable silence. Ian was just looking into the distance, while Anthony gazed over at him completely lost in his thoughts. "I really missed you", he suddenly said and just recognized that he wasn't just thinking that when Ian looked at him a little surprised. His surprise turned into a smile pretty quickly though. "I missed you too man", he told him honestly, still looking at him. They hold eye contact way longer than probably ever since before Anthony left. Ian finally held out his hand for Anthony to grab and, without even thinking about it, he did. He let his friend pull him over into a tight hug. Again, they stayed like that longer than it would be considered "normal", but they didn't care. They even closed their eyes for a moment and just relaxed knowing they were back together again. Not together together. But... together. Anthony couldn't resist a smile when he caught himself thinking that. He didn't know why, but this kind of thought went through his head way too often over the last few weeks.

There will be a part two soon. Hope you like it!
