„Buh!", Anthony screamed at Ian successfully scaring him after they just shut down the horror game they were playing for the games channel. The whole room started laughing, so Ian took it not too seriously and laughed with them even though he literally screamed a second ago. "C'mon let's get over to pit", Ian ended the situation before they left the set. Of course, a few of the crew members were left to tidy up the games set. Ian and Anthony walked over to the next recording and the horror game was almost forgotten when they met the others.Ian was immediately back in the game though when someone fell over a cable and part of the lights went off. He let out the exact same scream as when Anthony scared him earlier and intuitively shuffled closer to his friend. "It's just the lights, man", Anthony smiled petting his back and trying to make him feel more comfortable even though everyone was making fun of him in their own way. Ian pulled himself together and smiled at his friend right when someone put the plug back in and the lights went on. Just one of the lights started to flicker and Ian had to actively remind himself that the horror game was over and this was just a malfunction. Anthony recognized his deep breath. It was obvious to him that this game didn't leave his friend without a long-term scare.
The team fixed the malfunction quickly and they finished recording. "Uaahhhh!", Shayne jumped at Ian when they all left the room, and again, Ian jumped towards Anthony holding his hands in front of himself protectively until he understood that it was just Shayne. Of course, he managed to make everyone else laugh. Everyone but Anthony. He just let out a polite chuckle and tried to ignore Ian still kinda hiding close to him. It was cute that he seemed to feel safe with him but Anthony also felt a bit bad for him to even be in this situation because he convinced him to play that horror game when the crew suggested it.
A while later they were back at their desks again. Anthony shared an office with Ian because every time he had to be at the office, he had to work with Ian a lot anyway. "Do you think we'll hit the number of likes soon?", Ian asked seemingly out of nowhere but Anthony knew exactly what he meant. At a certain amount of likes, they'd play the game again and Ian would be in control at least partly. "You didn't sign a contract on that. It's fine if you don't wanna play", Anthony just said not answering the question. "I... I don't wanna duck out now. Just... a break that's longer than a few days would be cool", he admitted slightly nervous. "I guess it wouldn't even fit into the schedule for the rest of the week", Anthony mentioned. Ian smiled at him with the "you don't understand" look on his face. "If the crew finds a way to torture me, they'll take their chance", he explained. "But you're not the only boss anymore", his friend grinned at him still happy about the fact that he was back. "And I'll protect you from our crew and every flickering light", he added jokingly making Ian roll his eyes. Anthony couldn't know that his friend liked to hear that. It made him feel safe.
"Okay, I'm done for today", Anthony announced later. Ian looked at his screen for a second longer. He wasn't really done yet, but it was already dark outside and most of the office wasn't lit up by neon lights anymore. Only the people who were still working had their own lights on. So he decided to leave with his friend rather than walk out alone later. Anthony kind of picked up on that even though he wasn't sure if it was just his imagination. So they left the office together to get into their cars. Anthony made sure to wait at his car until Ian arrived at his and shortly after left the parking lot.
Ian arrived at his house and drove into the garage. It was always dark in there because he just never installed lights. Normally, it wasn't a problem to just walk three steps in the dark to reach the door. Today, he was scared of pretty much every dark area or even a small gap that something could crawl out of. But he eventually made his way inside and into the kitchen to get some food. He couldn't stand the silence in his house. It wasn't even windy outside today. So he could hear every sound inside his house and there were a few of them. Nothing unusual, it felt just so much louder today. But he also couldn't bring himself to put music on because then he might miss something.
Shaking his head about himself, Ian tried to concentrate on his dinner. After he finished he stood in his kitchen for another minute. There was a sound that wasn't there usually. At least that's what he thought. He wasn't sure. Ian tried to shake this thought off but that didn't really work. Instead, his mind decided to replay the scene from the horror game when this monster came out of a hole in the wall to pull the screaming character in. Ian stared at the last cupboard of his kitchen. There could be something hiding behind it. Or inside of it. Or inside of every single cupboard. Okay, now he was spiraling.
But he couldn't stop himself anymore. Ian couldn't walk a single step because every step would've brought him closer to at least one cupboard. This was growing into a panic attack. He knew that because he had a few before in his life. It was never a major problem but he was able to recognize the patterns in himself. "Fuck", he mumbled already shaking slightly. "Fuck, fuck, fuck", he continued grabbing the phone in his back pocket and quickly opening the chat with Anthony. "I'm panicking", he was able to type and send before his fingers gave up hitting any button.
I'm once more writing about a panic attack. I really don't know why I'm constantly doing that😂
Also, Ian in this story acts like I would if I had to play this game. I doubt that this is in any way accurate to reality😂Part two coming soon
