"Hey! Ian! Could you look for Anthony?", Courtney came up to him about half an hour before the pre-stream of Anthony's funeral roast. "Sure, but we still have some time don't we?", Ian asked a bit confused. "He's probably just getting ready", he added. "Yeah, we wanna be on set in like twenty minutes or something. I just think... I don't know, he seemed nervous", the director of today's event explained honestly. "I'd be wondering if he wouldn't be, but yeah... I'll go look for him", Ian agreed.

It didn't take him long to find his friend at the back of the office where it was quieter. He sat on a couch looking at his phone. "Hey", Ian got his attention. "Hey. Am I late?", Anthony immediately asked, putting his phone away. "No, no, but Courtney mentioned that you might need a pep talk", he explained. His friend laughed a bit at how true that was. "Maybe", he smiled at him almost shyly. Ian took that as an invitation to sit next to him. He could almost feel the amount of thoughts running through Anthony's head but he didn't really know how to help him.

"I think I'm just... scared that some joke might not... that I'll not... handle it well", Anthony started explaining. "I think that's part of why my funeral was... like we were all drunk. I'm not proud of it, but... yeah... I guess it helped ease my nerves", Ian admitted a bit insecure. "I just... I know, none of you intend to hurt me and it's just all fun and games, but... yeah", his friend repeated. "I don't think anyone will go too deep. Most of them don't even know you that well yet", he tried to calm him down a bit. "And I... I mean, I will not be gentle, because it's a roast, but... there's nothing personal in all that, and... we learned that we can talk about things so... If anything is bothering you afterward or if you spiral about something, we can talk about it. There's nothing wrong about it", Ian continued. Anthony looked at him with a small smile. Maybe that was exactly what he needed to hear. "Thank you", he whispered already getting emotional. Ian just petted him on the back smiling back at him.

"I hope, I won't disassociate", Anthony added shortly after. Ian looked at him slightly confused. He knew that was a thing his friend dealt with before. They never really talked about reasons for it or anything though. "When there's a lot of pressure or a lot of emotions or... like... attention on just me, I guess? That triggers it sometimes. But... lying in that casket... I mean, most of the attention will be on whoever is talking, I can try to calm myself down if I need to, so I might be fine", he explained honestly. "Hm... can I or can we do something to help?", Ian wanted to know. „I don't think so", his friend mumbled. Ian looked at him and how he looked down at his fingers spinning one of his rings around his finger. He hesitated, but the sight of his anxious friend just made him feel like it was time for a hug.

Anthony was a bit surprised knowing that Ian was not necessarily the type to hug people out of emotions. But it did calm his nerves a bit. He felt like he wasn't alone. „Thanks, man", he said again actually feeling better afterward. Ian just smiled at him once more. "Are you ready for the pre-stream? We could start without you if you need more time", he wanted to know. "I'm okay now. We can get to work. Thank you again", Anthony agreed to get back. "You're welcome. If you need anything else...", Ian wanted to let him know that he could always ask for help. He just nodded again before they made their way to the others.
