He took a deep breath while gazing intently at the ocean waves. It seemed angry due to the force of each crash against the shore. With every powerful wave, children playing on the beach quickly scampered away, laughing heartily. I couldn't help but smile as I watched them. I picked up my glass containing alcohol and took a sip. I shifted my gaze to the sea, focusing on the setting sun. Its colors blended with the white sky, creating a beautiful hue in the sky.

Indeed, not all endings are bad.

I was lost in thought, holding my drink, when someone suddenly hugged me from behind. I immediately smiled even wider. I put down the glass I was holding and turned to face the person who hugged me.

As I turned around, my smile widened even more upon seeing my beautiful spouse. She sweetly smiled back at me. I gently fixed her flowing hair and tucked it behind her ear. I leaned down and lightly kissed her forehead.

"Handa ka na ba para bukas?" she asked me with a smile.

Because of her question, a sudden wave of sadness filled my chest. It seemed like she noticed my reaction, so she quickly kissed me on the lips.

"Wag ka nang malungkot, hindi naman mawawala ang anak natin. " she calmly said.

I heaved a deep sigh and stared at her.

"I can't help it, wife. Before, I used to carry her in my arms, and now, she's getting married. I'm not ready to let go of my princess," my eyes welled up, and I swallowed hard to suppress the lump forming in my throat.

My wife rubbed my back and hugged me tightly.

"Kahit ako. Hindi pa ako handang bitawan ang anak natin. Pero kailangan, wala tayong choice. Ang anak natin ay kailangang bumuo ng sarili niyang pamilya. Para kung sakaling wala na tayo sa mundo. May mag-aalaga at may nagmamahal sa kanya."

My chest tightened. I couldn't help but cry at my wife's words.

My wife is right. We won't stay on this surface of the earth forever. Life is borrowed, so even if we want to be with our loved ones longer, it's not possible.

"Dad."

My gaze lifted to the servant at the door upon hearing the voice of my beloved daughter.

I smiled when I saw her.

I pulled away from embracing my wife, wiped my tears before signaling her to come closer.

She walked towards us with a playful grin. As soon as she approached, she immediately hugged me. I returned the embrace with a tight hug. I kissed her temple for a while.

My eyes started to well up again. I really can't bear to be far from my child.

My daughter broke away from our embrace and looked up. She took a deep breath and wiped away my tears.

"Dad. . . Don't cry. Even if I have my own family, I won't forget you and Mom. I'll still visit you at home."

I held her hands and carefully held them. I brought them to my lips and kissed them.

"If your husband hurts you, come home, okay? Daddy’s here. I'll accept you. Just tell me and I'll beat him up for you." I said, my lips trembling.

"Always remember that you're still Daddy's baby, both you and Mommy," I added, briefly glancing at my tearful wife beside me.

"I love you both so much. You're my life, and if I lose one of you, surely it'll be my death." I said, tears streaming down.
