Nanlaki ang mga mata ko nang marinig ang boses na yon dito sa loob ng opisina.

Sh-t.

Umikot ako sa likod ko. There I saw the Engineer Prof who stepped out from hiding behind the door.

Lupaypay ang braso na naibaba ko ang phone ko mula sa tenga ko.

"S-sir." - I reacted like a rat getting caught by the cat.

I heard the door locked before he leaned his back on the door with his hands inside his pockets.

"You weren't answering my texts and calls. And turns out you blocked my number. You're out of touch for 3 f--king days." gigil ang bawat salita na sabi niya.

He's throwing me a dagger look showing his anger.

Pigil ang takot na hinarap ko siya.

Wag kang matatakot, Z! Wala kang kasalanan!

Nag-isip ako ng sasabihin before I crossed my arms, controlling my anger.

"I was busy doing my school works and studies, Sir. I don't have time attending my phone." taas-noong sagot ko.

He huff with scorn.

"Busy? You think I'm not? You could have told me so and not lied about your phone. And you didn't see me again even when I visited you in your unit." Sarkastikong ganti niya.

"Oh bakit? You were told I was sick, di ba? Tsaka sira naman po talaga phone ko kaya lang napaayos ko na agad kanina lang." agad kong dahilan.

He chuckled humorlessly.

"You think I'm a fool? You didn't even eat lunch with me the other day and now. Care to explain why you're avoiding me?" panunuya niya.

I looked away and looked at the bookshelves on the side of the office instead.

"I'm not avoiding you, Sir." deklara ko na alam kong kinulang sa paninindigan.

"Really? Then how would you explain your acts?" He mocked.

Naggitgitan ang ngipin ko sa inis. Ang lakas niyang magdemand ng eksplanasyon! Eh siya dapat tong may ipaliwanag!

" Ipaalala ko lang po, Sir, di ko kailangang na laging sumabay sayo kumain o makipagkita sayo o tumingin sayo. Kung ayaw ko pong sagutin ang tawag niyo o magtext sa inyo o kausapin ka, karapatan ko yon."

I heard him suck his teeth irritatedly.

"So you intentionally did it. You're d-mn avoiding me." He stated incredously.

Umismid ako nang di nagpapatalo.

"Kung sinadya ko man o hindi, ano naman po, Sir? Let me remind you po, I'm just your student, I can't be with you or be in touch with you all the time. Sa loob ng classroom at school lang po tayo dapat may koneksyon." iritang tugon ko.

His jaw clenched dangerously and he walked towards me in big steps. Napaatras ako ng hakbang pero it was a dead end when I felt the desk on my lower back.

I almost jumped in shock nang malakas na tinampal niya ang mga palad patukod sa mesa. The sound of his palms hitting the wooden desk resounded around the office walls.

Ginitgit niya ako sa pagitan ng mesa at ng matikas niyang katawan. His arms are both on my sides.

My heart thumped so fast that I don't know why, whether it's because of fear or excitement and my affection towards him that cannot be controlled.

"Are you f--king kidding me? You know we're not just that." He growled like a predator whose food was stolen.

I composed myself and stood straight too.
